Mondo might bruise a few wallets tomorrow. The company has partnered with Sideshow Collectibles and a handful of notable poster artists to produce a set of posters for the Planet of the Apes Films. There are five prints in the series, one for each of the primary classic films. (Planet, Beneath, Escape, Conquest and Battle — sorry, Tim Burton remake fans and Rise of the Planet of the Apes lovers.)
The five prints will be sold as a set online tomorrow, Thursday January 26, with a sixth bonus print included. The price is $230; not bad at all for a Mondo poster set. Any remainders not sold as sets tomorrow will go up for sale on Friday; Sideshow Collectibles will eventually offer variants of each print on the Sideshow website. The artists are Martin Ansin, Ken Taylor, Rich Kelly, Phantom City Creative and Florian Bertmer. If you purchase the entire set of five, you will also receive the GO APE! poster painted by Jason Edmiston.

Just when you thought the Alamo Drafthouse was done with their 2011 Texas Rolling Roadshow, they’ve added one more stop and this one has a higher purpose. The Days Inn in Hillsboro, Texas was a major location in Wes Anderson‘s feature debut Bottle Rocket and it’s in danger of shutting down. So, the Drafthouse has teamed up with several partners to host a fundraising screening for the hotel on Saturday July 9 that will be paired with a limited edition poster by Rich Kelly. Read more about the event, the hotel and see the full poster after the jump. Read More »
What is Page 2? Page 2 is a compilation of stories and news tidbits, which for whatever reason, didn’t make the front page of /Film. After the jump we’ve included 40 different items, fun images, videos, casting tidbits, articles of interest and more. It’s like a mystery grab bag of movie web related goodness. If you have any interesting items that we might’ve missed that you think should go in /Film’s Page 2 – email us!

Justin Ishmael of Mondo Tees promised more and more famous characters in the second half of their sold out Star Wars poster series and he’s already delivered. The last print featured Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker (in a moment that might have been ruined years prior) and the latest print features everyone’s favorite Wookie co-pilot Chewbacca.
Attack Position by Rich Kelly goes on sale Friday November 12 and Kelly crushed this one. I particularly love the AT-ST in the corner and the flat Stormtroopers bowing at Chewie’s feet on the forest moon of Endor. There’s more information about the sale and the poster after the jump. Read More »
