Three of Mondo’s biggest artists are currently collaborating for a gallery show in Long Beach, California. But it’s not Mondo, and the subject is not movies. Still, the frenzy that these guys have created with their work on films like Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Alien, UHF, Bride of Frankenstein, Poltergiest and Bottle Rocket made the event something truly memorable. Almost a hundred people lined up seven hours before the opening. Prints worth thousands of dollars being signed. And gorgeous new work on display.

After the jump, check out images of A Distant Winter, a gallery show still on display at the Phone Booth Gallery in Long Beach, CA and read a bit more about its artists: Martin Ansin, Ken Taylor and Rich Kelly. Read More »

Not only was the reveal for the latest Breaking Bad poster across the Atlantic, the poster it begat takes place in a foreign country too. Rich Kelly‘s Mexican Shootout shows a glimpse at one of the most action packed scenes in the history of the hit AMC show and, after the jump, you can read about the reveal and see the full image. It’s glorious. Read More »

Mondo might bruise a few wallets tomorrow. The company has partnered with Sideshow Collectibles and a handful of notable poster artists to produce a set of posters for the Planet of the Apes Films. There are five prints in the series, one for each of the primary classic films. (Planet, Beneath, Escape, Conquest and Battle — sorry, Tim Burton remake fans and Rise of the Planet of the Apes lovers.)

The five prints will be sold as a set online tomorrow, Thursday January 26, with a sixth bonus print included. The price is $230; not bad at all for a Mondo poster set. Any remainders not sold as sets tomorrow will go up for sale on Friday; Sideshow Collectibles will eventually offer variants of each print on the Sideshow website. The artists are Martin Ansin, Ken Taylor, Rich Kelly, Phantom City Creative and Florian Bertmer. If you purchase the entire set of five, you will also receive the GO APE! poster painted by Jason Edmiston.

Hit the jump for a gallery of all six images. Read More »

Just when you thought the Alamo Drafthouse was done with their 2011 Texas Rolling Roadshow, they’ve added one more stop and this one has a higher purpose. The Days Inn in Hillsboro, Texas was a major location in Wes Anderson‘s feature debut Bottle Rocket and it’s in danger of shutting down. So, the Drafthouse has teamed up with several partners to host a fundraising screening for the hotel on Saturday July 9 that will be paired with a limited edition poster by Rich Kelly. Read more about the event, the hotel and see the full poster after the jump. Read More »
