Nickelodeon clearly knows that there’s money to be made from the nostalgia of their beloved programming from the 90s when the kids-geared network was just taking off. The channel has been said to be thinking of ways to revive certain popular 90s cartoons such as Rugrats and Hey Arnold! and Paramount Pictures is supposedly developing some kind of live-action/animated hybrid movie that could bring a bunch of Nicktoons together.
And now news has surfaced that there will be a new programming block of Nickelodeon 90s shows called The Splat coming to the channel in October, bringing back tons of the shows that children of the 90s fell in love with and still treasure to this day. Read More »
Hot on the heels of news this past week that Nickelodeon is considering reviving some of its fan-favorite cartoons from the ’90s, animated characters from that decade at the kid-geared cable network may also get new life on the big screen.

Adults of a certain age have a very special place in their heart for Nickelodeon. Not current Nickelodeon, mind you. I’m talking old school Nickelodeon. Shows like You Can’t Do That on Television, Pinwheel, Double Dare, Rugrats, The Ren and Stimpy Show, Doug, The Adventures of Pete and Pete and Salute Your Shorts. All were classic television programs that helped mold the young minds of today’s twenty- and thirty-year olds.

No, you didn’t get a touch of space madness watching The Simpsons Sunday night. Matt Groening and company just happened to commision another famous artist to animate their own couch gag. We’ve already seen Banksy’s take but there’s a possibility John Kricfalusi‘s might be even more disturbing. Kricfalusi is best known for his hit 1990s Nickelodeon series Ren & Stimpy and has since been doing music videos and various other animated work. However, his Simpsons couch gag probably came as a wild surprise to old and new fans alike.
