Even though fans were going crazy over the panels for shows like The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones at Comic-Con, one panel that we didn’t get to check out that had equally rabid fans was for The Muppets and their return to television in the self-titled ABC mockumentary series.
We’ve already seen a trailer teasing the promising return of Jim Henson’s favorite creations, but seeing Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the rest of the crew take on a panel at Comic-Con is something entirely different. If The Muppets make the transition back to TV, it’ll be in a way we’ve never seen them before. New details have surfaced about the upcoming ABC pilot starring Jim Henson‘s famous characters and it seems this version will have a more adult feel. It’ll be shot as a mock-documentary, like The Office, centered on the behind-the-scenes antics of making a new TV show. Elijah Wood fans have lots to be happy about today. First up, he’s set to star in The Late Bloomer, the directorial debut of frequent Wilfred director Randall Einhorn, which tells the true story of a 30 year old man who goes through puberty in a matter of weeks. In addition, Wood has teamed up with Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller to form The Woodshed, an independent production label that’ll produce and distrubute genre films.
