The Interview Skylark Tonight MTV Special Iggy Azalea

The trailer for Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s The Interview is pretty insane. In the film, a famous entertainment journalist and his producer get an exclusive interview with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un. Before heading to the interview, the U.S. government asks the guys to assassinate the dictator.

So why the heck would this journalist, out of everyone, get this exclusive interview? Your first clue was on MTV over the weekend as James Franco‘s character, Dave Skylark, hosted a Very Special VMA Special featuring interviews with musicians Iggy Azalea, Jason Derulo and Nicki Minaj. Seth Rogen’s producer character, Aaron, also plays a huge role in the special.

Watching this special, which runs 20 minutes long, you’re sure not only to laugh, but totally get why the North Korean dictator of the film – which opens December 25 – would agree to the Interview. Watch The Interview MTV Special below. Read More »

The Interview Skylark Tonight MTV Special Nicki Minaj

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg‘s already controversial film, The Interview, was recently pushed back a few months but we’ll get a nice tease this weekend. Tied into the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, stars of the film James Franco and Rogen will do a full 30 minute special, in character, interviewing popular musicians Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea and Jason Derulo.

In the film, Franco plays Dave Skylark, the host of a popular entertainment interview show run by producer Aaron Rapoport (Rogen). They’re then granted an exclusive interview with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, and are asked to kill him. There will be no killing on the MTV special, which airs Sunday August 17 at 9 p.m., but you’ll get a sense of the film’s tone and humor. Below, read more info, see more photos and even watch a quick video of The Interview MTV Special. Read More »

The Other Woman

Facing the vengeance of not one, not two, but three women scorned would probably be pretty rough on most men. But after everything Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has been through as Jaime Lannister on this past season of Game of Thrones, some hormonal sabotage, a bit of professional betrayal, and a swift kick to the balls should seem like a walk in the park.

The Other Woman stars Coster-Waldau as a charmer with an oblivious wife (Leslie Mann) and at least two equally uninformed mistresses (Cameron Diaz and Kate Upton). But when the three ladies catch wind of what’s going on, they decide to team up to exact their revenge on him. Nicki Minaj and Taylor Kinney also star. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Sometimes there’s no way to make a casting roundup conform to any sort of sense. Such is the case here, as we’ve got info on a wild reality-based political thriller set in 1979, an animated sequel, and an indie family drama with a very unlikely cast. In other words, after the break you’ll find info on:

  • Monsters star Scoot McNairy joining Ben Affleck’s Argo,
  • Nick Frost and seven hundred other actors doing voices for the fourth theatrical Ice Age movie,
  • and an indie called Little Boy, which has Kevin James and Emily Watson set to star.
