Black Panther Characters - Michael B. Jordan

Marvel’s veil of secrecy is notorious by now to anyone who even casually follows their productions. Still, it’s not every day you see that veil take physical form.

When we gathered to interview Michael B. Jordan on the set of Black Panther last year, he brought with him a paper outlining exactly what he was and wasn’t allowed to discuss with us. As it turns out, there was quite a lot he couldn’t say. He couldn’t say what Killmonger wanted, for instance, or even how much of his backstory we’d get to see.

What he could tell us was that his Killmonger is a “selfless” sort, less a hero or a villain than a “revolutionary.” Whether T’Challa sees it that way – well, that’s for us to find out when Black Panther opens on February 16.

Creed 2 Casting - Florian Munteanu

Back in November last year, we heard that Creed 2 might be looking for someone to play the son of Ivan Drago, the legendary boxer responsible for killing Apollo Creed in the ring at the beginning of Rocky IV in 1985. At the time, an MMA fighter named  Sage Northcutt said that he sent in a tape as an audition for the role, but there had been no real confirmation that the spin-off sequel starring Michael B. Jordan would bring in the offspring of another legacy character. Now not only do we have confirmation of the character’s involvement in the sequel, but we know who’s playing him as well, and it’s not the aforementioned MMA fighter.

Get the details on the Creed 2 casting of Ivan Drago’s son below. Read More »

Black Panther Featurette - Danai Gurira as Okoye

Black Panther doesn’t hit theaters for a little over a month, but the movie is already breaking records by selling more advance tickets in its first day of sales than any other Marvel Cinematic Universe title that came before it. This looks like it will be an even bigger movie than some have speculated, and the more footage we see from Chadwick Boseman‘s first solo big screen outing as the superhero, the cooler it looks.

A new Black Panther featurette has arrived online, this time focusing on two specific warriors of Wakanda. There’s Okoye, played by The Walking Dead star Danai Guriria (seen above), and Nakia, played by 12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong’o. The featurette not only provides some key details about each of their characters, but shows them kicking ass in the secretive African stronghold of Wakanda. Read More »

Fahrenheit 451 Teaser Trailer

Ray Bradbury‘s 1953 novel Fahrenheit 451 is a classic piece of literature that has stood the test of time. The story takes place in an unspecified time in the future of America where books have been outlawed and “firemen” have the responsibility to burn any that are found. It’s the definitive story about suppression, censorship and knowledge. Now that story is coming to HBO.

HBO Films is turning Fahrenheit 451 into a cable movie starring Creed lead Michael B. Jordan and The Shape of Water villain Michael Shannon, and the first fiery teaser trailer has arrived online for you to watch. Read More »

Creed 2 Director

A few months ago, Sylvester Stallone revealed on his Instagram page that he would be directing Creed 2, the follow-up to Ryan Coogler‘s acclaimed Rocky spin-off from 2015. The silence that followed was deafening and now it seems like we know why – he’s not directing it. The best Movies Streaming November

(Welcome to Now Stream This, a column dedicated to the best movies streaming on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and every other streaming service out there.)

Break out the cranberry sauce: it’s almost time for Thanksgiving. Soon you’ll be forced to sit at a table with your family and have a conversation. How terrifying! My advice: skip all that and stream some movies. If your family complains, advise them to sit down and stream the movies along with you. It’s win-win! Also, bring beer.

You don’t have to force a conversation with movies; you just have to watch them. Isn’t that glorious? Of course, with the ever-growing list of streaming services out there, it can be hard to pick a specific film to watch for your own specific needs. But since I’m such a nice guy, and it is the season of giving, I went ahead and assembled a cornucopia of great films for you to stream in the next few days. There’s stuff(ing) here from David Lynch, Guillermo del Toro, Ryan Coogler, and more! We’ve got horror, family films, fantasy, romance, action – you name it! So get ready to binge on these films, but make sure you save room for leftovers. Here are the best movies streaming right now! So let’s get streaming.
