There’s been lots of talk this week about the behind the scenes happenings with Josh Trank‘s Fantastic Four. What’s the movie about? Who is starring? It seems we might find out sooner rather than later.
A new report says Michael B. Jordan is officially attached as Johnny Storm but actors are still testing for the other three lead roles. Emmy Rossum and Kara Mara are screen testing this week for the role of Sue Storm and Miles Teller is still testing for Reed Richards. As for Ben Grimm, Josh Gad isn’t mentioned but Christian Cook (Cemetery Junction, Magic City) has tested. Read More »

It may not be a tradition as entrenched as the Golden Globes drunkenness or office Oscar pools, but for the past twenty years the Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue has been a fun fixture of awards season. The magazine gathers up the brightest stars of the year, pretties them up and poses them just so, and snaps a photo that simultaneously celebrates the year that was and looks ahead at the years to come.
This year’s choices are a nice mix of established A-listers (George Clooney, Julia Roberts), rising veterans (Chiwetel Ejiofor, Idris Elba), and exciting fresh faces (Lupita Nyong’o, Margot Robbie). Hit the jump to see the full spread.

In the end credits of That Awkward Moment, we’re treated to a blooper reel. The footage is typically goofy stuff — stars flubbing lines, knocking over props, cracking dirty jokes, and generally getting silly — but it’s a pleasure to watch because the actors are so damn fun. Zac Efron, Miles Teller, and Michael B. Jordan come across as warm and funny people, and the rapport between them is inviting. I can only imagine that the set must have been a blast.
The film itself, however, is not. Although the premise should, in theory, provide plenty of opportunities for sparks to fly and for the cast’s magnetic personalities to shine through, as they do in the blooper reel, writer/director Tom Gormican seems more interested in shoving the characters along predictable plotlines. The result is a tedious romantic comedy that can’t sell the romance, the comedy, or even the bromance.

Three of this year’s hottest stars are teaming up for director John Hillcoat. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael B. Jordan, and Casey Affleck have just boarded Hillcoat’s crime drama Triple Nine, joining the previously announced Christoph Waltz and Cate Blanchett.
That’s a cast to rival Hillcoat’s last star-studded affair, the bootlegging pic Lawless. Which is really saying something, since the roster for that one included Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain, Dane DeHaan, and Guy Pearce. More about Triple Nine, including Ejiofor, Jordan, and Affleck’s roles, after the jump.

The red-band trailer for That Awkward Moment really lived up to the film’s title, delivering several incredibly awkward moments. But not all of them were SFW, so the new green-band trailer offers a few different, slightly less awkward moments in their place.
Fortunately, this looks like the kind of movie that has more than mere shock value going for it. Rising stars Miles Teller, Zac Efron, and Michael B. Jordan star as three best friends navigating the dating scene together in this Tom Gormican-directed comedy, and seem to have a grand old time of it. Watch the newest promo after the jump.

If you were to cast a dream team of up and coming twenty-something male actors, that list would include the stars of That Awkward Moment. The film, written and directed by Tom Gormican, stars Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller as three young men trying to figure out that “awkward” moment in a relationship where it goes from casual to serious. Imogen Poots and Jessica Lucas are along for the R-rated ride.
It doesn’t hit theaters until January 31, 2014 but a red band trailer has just been released. Check it out below, along with a link to see the rumored Star Wars and Fantastic Four stars do a live Q&A Tuesday evening. Read More »
