Now this is what I’m talking about. Whereas the first U.S. trailer for Steven Soderbergh‘s male stripper flick Magic Mike took pains to frame Mike (Channing Tatum) as just a sensitive furniture maker searching for something more than the seedy life of an exotic dancer, the new U.K. trailer plays up the sheer entertainment value of watching these guys get down and dirty. And along the way, it even reveals a bit more about the mentor-protege relationship between Mike and The Kid (Alex Pettyfer) that comprises the main storyline. Watch it after the jump.

Ryan Murphy is best known as the co-creator of such unusual TV hits as Glee, American Horror Story, and Nip/Tuck, but he’s slowly been building up a big-screen career as well. Though 2006′s Running with Scissors wasn’t quite a box office smash, 2010′s Eat Pray Love pulled in $200 million worldwide despite mediocre reviews.

Murphy is now gearing up for his third feature, the HIV/AIDS drama The Normal Heart. Andrew Niccol‘s new film In Time posits a world in which the only currency is time: every individual has a body clock which, after 25 years, constantly counts down to death. Anyone can earn or steal more time, and without that wealth, it is game over. The extended trailer we saw at Comic Con made the film look like a bit like Gattaca infused with a pulp noir sensibility. The film might be a smart thriller that uses sci-fi tropes to critique a youth-obsessed popular culture; or it might just be a silly chase thriller. Difficult to tell right now. But there is a new, shorter trailer; one that gives a bit more time to Olivia Wilde, who plays the mother of central figure Justin Timberlake. Check it out below.

Like her House Bunny co-star Emma Stone, Anna Faris is one of those actresses who has enough charm and verve to brighten up even the most lackluster material. And it’s mostly for that reason that I’m actually looking forward to What’s Your Number? The upcoming romcom features Faris as a woman who, upon realizing that she has slept with 20 men, revisits her former flames to see if “the one” might’ve been among them. Watch the trailer after the jump.
