Tuesday was a pretty damn good day if you are a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan. First up, the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray hit shelves, including the One-Shot Agent Carter. Then Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiered on ABC. And if that wasn’t enough, a new minute long TV spot for Thor: The Dark World debuted, featuring some exciting new footage.

Marvel fans need only wait another few weeks before the latest addition to their favorite universe. No, Thor: The Dark World hasn’t been moved up from its November opening. The ABC show Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premieres September 24 and as that date slowly approaches, more and more information on the show is revealed.
Peter’s already seen the whole pilot and, this weekend, it screened again at the Television Critics Association event. There, reporters talked to producers Joss Whedon, Jeph Loeb and others about the show. The pair once again discussed connections between the S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, just how involved Whedon will be once Avengers: Age of Ultron starts filming and more.

Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe now looks pretty clear. The Iron Man, Thor and Captain America sequels will lead directly into Avengers: Age of Ultron, while Guardians of the Galaxy will feature Thanos and look ahead to Phase Three.
One offshoot that’s a little less clear is on television. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. takes place in the same universe as the films. We know this because the plot of the show features Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) returning from the dead to lead members of S.H.I.E.L.D. in investigating other superheroes.
