liam-neeson

Even at 71 years of age, Martin Scorsese shows no signs of slowing down. He’s currently on the awards circuit with his masterful film The Wolf of Wall Street, and he will debut a new documentary in the coming months. Then he’ll follow all that with Silence, and adaptation of Shusaku Endo’s novel about Jesuits who attempt to spread Christianity in 17th century Japan. The film already has Andrew Garfield, Ken Watanabe and Adam Driver in key roles. Now Liam Neeson has joined the cast. Production will begin later this year. Read More »

Million Ways to Die Posters

Seth MacFarlane had already conquered TV when he released his feature debut, Ted, in 2012. The film was a smash, he went on to host the Oscars and while some are looking at 2015′s Ted 2 as the director’s next foray into the multiplex, he actually has a pretty huge film out this year.

It’s the western comedy called A Million Ways To Die In The West, which tells the story of a meek farmer (MacFarlane) who loses his girlfriend after backing out of a gunfight, then falls in with a mysterious woman who has an evil outlaw boyfriend. The cast is super impressive (Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman, Giovanni Ribisi and Neil Patrick Harris) and now you can see them all in character on eight different posters.  Read More »

The Lego Movie

In the wrong hands, The Lego Movie could’ve been a lazy, forgettable kids’ film with no obvious purpose other than pushing more plastic bricks. But as directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, it’s looking like a very early contender for the year’s best animated film — funny, smart, energetic, and far more original than we have any reason to expect a film based on a toy would be.

With every new bit of marketing that rolls out, it’s looking more and more promising. Today, we have nine new clips from the film totaling about eight minutes of footage. Chris Pratt leads the voice cast as Emmet, an extraordinarily ordinary minifig who is accidentally drafted to lead a revolution against the evil President Business (Will Ferrell). Liam Neeson Non Stop

Liam Neeson‘s action-star career resurgence has been an exciting ride. Sure Taken 2 wasn’t as good as the first and Unknown stunk, but Neeson’s permanent charisma makes him exciting and believable as the aging hero in films like The Grey.

Not as believable as “Neeson the action star” is the plot of his new movie, Non-Stop. But that’s half the fun isn’t it? Neeson plays an Air Marshall on a transatlantic flight who is framed for a hijacking as he’s simultaneously trying to stop it. He’s joined on board by Julianne Moore and Downton Abbey‘s Michellle Dockery with Jaume Collet-Serra directing. It hits theaters February 28 and you can see the first trailer below. Read More »

The Nut Job

Liam Neeson is no stranger to crime pics, but his latest falls very, very far outside the Taken wheelhouse. The Nut Job centers around an intrepid city squirrel (voiced by Will Arnett) who decides to stock up for the winter by robbing a nut store. Neeson voices the villain, a raccoon.

Also lending their voices to the animated comedy are Katherine Heigl, Brendan Fraser, Stephen Lang, Maya Rudolph, and Jeff Dunham. Check out the trailer after the jump.

Taken 2 side

Shortly before the release of Taken 2, star Liam Neeson sounded deeply skeptical about the prospect of a Taken 3. “I don’t think it’s going to happen,” he shrugged. “I can’t see a possible scenario where audiences wouldn’t go, ‘Oh, come on…! She’s taken again?’” But for an eight-figure salary, he’s apparently willing to keep an open mind.

Neeson is in final negotiations to star in the next Taken movie, which is being scripted once again by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen. And his very particular set of skills will be even more richly rewarded this time around. Hit the jump for more details on his massive payday.
