Kylo Ren Darth Vader helmet

When Star Wars: The Force Awakens opened earlier this month, it answered a lot of questions we had in the run-up to the film, like “What’s Leia been up to?” and “Is BB-8 somehow even cuter than R2-D2?” (answers: being a general, and yes). But it also raised a whole lot more. Such as: how exactly did Darth Vader’s helmet, last seen burning in a funeral pyre in The Return of the Jedi, wind up in the hands of Kylo Ren (Adam Driver)?

The film doesn’t spell it out, but Star Wars fans have constructed plenty of theories. And now it looks like one of them may have hit upon a definitive answer. (Warning: Massive spoilers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens ahead.) Get the Kylo Ren Darth Vader helmet explanation after the jump. Read More »

The Force Awakens Rating

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is officially PG-13. That’s the rating we all expected, but some fans worried Disney would try to make the film a completely kid-friendly picture — something we shouldn’t expect from J.J. Abrams or this franchise. Even the PG installments, like The Empire Strikes Back, would’ve been rated PG-13 today.

Abrams’ sequel is the second Star Wars film to be rated PG-13. After the jump, learn what the Force Awakens’ rating is and isn’t for.

Star Wars Aftermath

What happened in the thirty years between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens?  In March, Disney announced they would release a series of books called Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which would fill in that gap through a mix of novels, comics, children’s books and young adult stories (all considered official Star Wars canon).

We’ve already previewed one of the 20 books which will hit store shelves in December 2015, a prequel comic book called Star Wars: Shattered Empire. Now Penguin Random House has released a first preview excerpt of another book in the Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens line. Chuck Wendig’s Star Wars Aftermath tells the story of what happened after the conclusion of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. Its also apparently the first book in a series called Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy. After the jump you can read the short four paragraph description, which I assume will be printed on the book cover.
