Just on the off chance that you’d overlooked the fact that a sequel to Cars is being released this summer, Disney and Pixar have released another full-length trailer (after a unleashing a legion of clips and TV spots) for Cars 2. The Disney/Pixar channel on YouTube calls this trailer #4, and who am I to argue? There is some new footage here, and the trailer is cut well, but at this point either you’re on board for Cars 2 or you’re not. If by some chance you’re new to the fact that the film exists, hit the break for the new trailer, or check it out if you can’t wait for the film to open on June 24. Read More »

With the approaching release of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, images from the film are starting to get out into the wild. It seems like there are certain requirements for any Transformers stills that don’t feature robots: they’ve got to have explosions, Shia LaBeouf running, or characters appearing to cautiously move through a location. And now we’ve got an image to cover each one of those bases for the third film. Check ‘em out after the break. And, sorry, no robots. Read More »

LOL: Coen Brothers Will Watch Tara Reid in ‘The Big Lebowski 2,’ If It Gets Made
Posted on Thursday, February 3rd, 2011 by Russ Fischer

Briefly: The saddest or most amusing statement so far this week, depending upon your perspective, came from a substance-affected Tara Reid on the red carpet for a benefit event in Los Angeles. The actress, who played nympho trophy wife (to use the parlance of our time) Bunny Lebowski in The Big Lebowski, said that a sequel would shoot this year. Ha ha, good one Tara! Oh, wait. You’re serious? Gulp.
Austin 360 mentioned it to the Coen Brothers, and Ethan Coen said, “I’m glad she’s working on it…we don’t [have a sequel in the works] but we’ll watch it when it comes out.” Joel Coen chimed in, “Especially if Tara’s in it.” Good to see they’ve got a sense of humor about it. All I request of Tara Reid is that, should this sequel ever happen (it won’t) please make sure John Turturro‘s idea to have his character Jesus Quintana show up as a school bus driver is put into play. (And for the record, Tara Reid’s reps have tried to clarify the story, saying “she heard Jeff Bridges say that he wanted to make Big Lebowski 2 and have all the original cast members in it, so she may have misspoke, thinking that included her based on what Jeff said.”)
Full Toronto Midnight Madness Lineup Announced; Hereafter, I’m Still Here and Many More Also Added
Posted on Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 by Russ Fischer

Last night we got a brief preview of some of the films that will appear in the always-entertaining Midnight Madness lineup at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival. Now we’ve got the full nine, which in addition to the three announced last night (Super, Bunraku and The Butcher, The Chef and the Swordsman) include John Carpenter‘s The Ward, Brad Anderson‘s Vanishing on 7th Street and Insidious, by James Wan.
But TIFF isn’t stopping there: a whole host of other high-profile films were announced for the fest today. They include Clint Eastwood‘s Hereafter, Casey Affleck‘s I’m Still Here, Matt Reeves‘ Let Me In, Dustin Lance Black‘s directorial debut What’s Wrong With Virginia? and the Will Ferrell dramedy Everything Must Go, along with confirmation of Danny Boyle‘s 127 Hours, for which there’s a new photo. (Above.) This year’s TIFF looks like a good one: check info about all the films after the break. Read More »
Transformers 3: 3D Release Confirmed, Villain and Plot Details Revealed, The End of the Trilogy

Anthony Breznican has a new article on Transformers 3 titled “Next ‘Transformers’ is due for a switch” which mostly consists of director Michael Bay and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura explaining what went wrong with the previous installment, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (blamed mostly on the rushed schedule and writers strike). There are a few interesting bits about the newest film to be found in the article, here is a sample:
Exclusive Video From the UK Transformers 2 Press Conference
Posted on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009 by Brendon Connelly

The UK release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was last week, and before that there was a press conference with Michael Bay, Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and John Turturro for not only the British press but, seemingly, a number of continental Europeans also. I was there, but this time I was not sitting amongst the press pack, waiting to shoot my hand up, but stood behind my camera, getting us some exclusive video. That video – about five minutes, representing the material really worth bothering with in the forty five minute conference – comes after the break.
