Columbia Pictures has moved Michel Gondry‘s The Green Hornet back two weeks from June 25th 2010 to July 9th 2010. According to ERC, the move was made to make room for the studio’s Dennis Dugan-directed comedy Grown Ups, which was moved from March 12th to June 25th. But with The Twilight Saga’s Eclipse scheduled to hit theaters on June 30th, I’m surprised that Columbia would want either of their films near the tween vampire romance sequel.
And since it was revealed that Megan Fox wouldn’t appear naked in the filmed topless scene in the Diablo Cody-scripted horror film Jennifer’s Body, fans have been speculating that 20th Century Fox was aiming for a PG-13 rating. I read the initial draft of the screenplay, and I’m not sure that story could be told in PG-13. But fear not, the MPAA has finally spoken. The film is officially rated R for “sexuality, bloody violence, language and brief drug use.” Nope, you’re still not going to see Megan Fox topless, but at least we’ll be getting a bloody r-rated horror film. [Bloody-disgusting]
FilmSchoolRejects has posted some new photos from the Diablo Cody-scripted teen horror film Jennifer’s Body. The photos were were apparently scanned from Empire Magazine. After the jump I’ve included the new images which feature Megan Fox as a cheerleader and a man eating blood covered possessed demon, along with a dirty and bloody Amanda Seyfried. Head on over to FSR for the high res scans.

Academy Award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody on Twitter:
- Am finding myself bothered by stale MySpace reference in “Jennifer’s Body.” I love MySpace and all but, you know.
- I wonder if we can dub in “Twitter” instead. Do it on a reverse shot so it doesn’t look totally Bruce Lee.
- I don’t know how the references in a feature script can ever stay current when the average film takes four years to develop.
- I guess Apatow turns ‘em around extra fast. The rest of us have to deal with Sanjaya jokes in our 2009 releases.
/Film reader Stark1288 sent me this official production photo from the Jason Reitman-produced, Diablo Cody-scripted horror film Jennifer’s Body.
Update: Turns out the photo came from Entertainment Weekly, and we’ve now replaced the photo with a clear version.
Yes, that is Megan Fox, who plays a possessed cheerleader in the film, and in the photo is drenched with blood. I’m not sure exactly where the photo came from, appears to be a scan from a magazine. When small-town high school hottie Jennifer (Megan Fox) is possessed by a hungry demon, guys who never stood a chance with her, take on new luster in the light of Jennifer’s insatiable appetite. From the Oscar-winning screenwriter of “Juno.” Jennifer’s Body hits theaters on September 18th 2009.
The United States of Tara is Diablo Cody‘s new TV show, launching this Sunday on Showtime – but if you’re imapatient, the premiere epsiode is already streaming from the series’ official site, though if you’re anything like me (in all respects but geographical location) you’ll also tune in on Sunday so that you can watch with live Twitter accompaniment from Ms. Cody herself. The show was apparently conceived by Steven Spielberg – which is what was said about What Lies Beneath, too if you remember. According to that film’s co-scriptwriter Clark Gregg in the Creative Screenwriting podcast, however, Spielberg’s contribution there amounted to “it’s about, you know, a couple they have a house and maybe it’s an old house and maybe there’s a ghost in the house and at first they think it’s the ghost of somebody from a long time ago and then maybe not” so who knows what he gave Cody to work with.
Out on the road to hype Tara, Cody has been talking about a couple of her other upcoming projects too: Jennifer’s Body and an acting turn on 90210. But what about them?

From the Oscar-winning screenwriter of Juno.” Amanda Seyfried, Adam Brody, and J.K. Simmons also star.
Cool Posts From Around the Web:
Fox Atomic has released a teaser poster for the Diablo Cody penned horror film Jennifer’s Body. You might recognize this poster, as we posted it a couple days ago with a different title card “True Blood“. Of course I’m joking, as the film and the upcoming HBO television series have no real connection. But the similarities in the poster design are too extreme to ignore.
