You all know me as a bit of a poster freak so when I say this, know I’m not being hyperbolic. Mondo‘s poster for 13 Assassins, designed by Vania Zouravliov, is an early contender for poster of the year. Based on the awesome, bad-ass, insert positive adjective here samurai film by Takashi Miike, Zouravliov’s piece not only evokes a whole other time period, it pops with energy and emotion. It’s stunning. And it even comes in three colors.
Check out the variants after the jump, along with new Mondo posters for Rocky 3, Dragonslayer, The Hills Have Eyes and The Mole People. Yes, Mondo is on a bit of a cult kick after The Avengers and we like it. Read More »

Mondo and the Alamo Drafthouse had their biggest event ever this weekend this weekend as 700 attendees piled onto buses and were escorted by police to the Highland Mall in Austin Texas for their ninth mystery screening: George Romero‘s Dawn of the Dead. When the buses pulled in, 200 zombies attacked them, forcing the film goers to race into the mall to watch the movie. There the director introduced his 1978 masterpiece which was accompanied by an awesome, limited edition poster by Jeff Proctor.
It was an event that won’t soon be forgotten and, after the jump, you can see not only the poster, but photos and videos from the event that will help you relive the entire evening. What better way to start off you Halloween? Read More »

I type this from the tables right outside the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar in Austin Texas as Fantastic Fest 2011 is getting ready to kick off. Of course, it wouldn’t be a true to form Alamo event if Mondo didn’t get involved and in addition to an Olly Moss American Werewolf in London poster that will be revealed on Saturday, Mondo has a bunch of limited edition posters that will be available for the first time at the fest. They’re for Zombie, The Innkeepers and The House by the Cemetery. Plus Mondo is releasing their first record, the score to Maniac by Jay Chattaway. Check out all the images after the jump. It’s no mystery that we at /Film are huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans. (I enter exhibits one, two and three into evidence if you need convincing.) So it makes sense that Mondo chose us to exclusively debut a pair of posters for the 1990 live action film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Jeff Proctor. The posters were created because the Alamo Drafthouse regularly hosts insane all-you-can-eat pizza party/screenings of the film. A regular and variant of the Proctor print, along with an awesome poster of Santa Sangre by Florian Bertmer will go on sale Thursday, January 20, at a random time. See full photos and get all the specs after the jump. Read More »
