It’s been a couple years since we first reported that Universal was eyeing another slice of American Pie (yup, I said it), and it looks like the film, titled American Reunion, is finally coming together. It was announced last week that Jason Biggs, Eugene Levy and Seann William Scott had already signed deals with Universal, and that most of the rest of the original cast were in talks. And now, a few plot details have been revealed. Check them out after the jump.

Just when you thought you’d seen the last of the gang from American Pie, Universal is baking another. They’ve officially locked deals with three of the stars of the original films, Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott and Eugene Levy, to appear in American Reunion, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They’re also negotiating with Thomas Ian Nicholas, Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Mena Suvari and Jennifer Coolidge to reprise their roles as well. American Reunion, which would officially be the fourth American Pie movie with the original cast, but eighth (!) in a lucrative direct-to-video franchise, would surely see the gang come home to Michigan for their high school reunion.
Last year, Harold and Kumar screenwriters Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg were rumored to be writing a script but there’s no word if they’re still involved. More after the jump. Read More »

They join Jason Biggs and Joel David Moore Full details after the jump.

Moviehole is reporting that Universal Pictures has decided to abandon the direct-to-DVD American Pie movies because they are planning to make a fourth theatrical film which will bring back some of the leads from the previous films.
It is unknown who will return, although if I had to guess, I’d say that it might be called American Marriage, and pick up with Jim and Michelle Levenstein (Jason Biggs and Alyson Hannigan), who might be celebrating their 10th year anniversary. Or maybe it will be called American Family, American Newborn or American Pregnancy and tell the story of the Levenstein’s having kids. But I’m not sure how any of those options might incorporate the American Pie-style raunchy comedy. Or could this generation’s teen comedy franchise grow up (like much of its audience) into something beyond that?
New Line has released a trailer and new theatrical poster for the upcoming supernatural romantic comedy Over Her Dead Body from former Drew Carey Show writer Jeff Lowell. Paul Rudd, Eva Longoria, Lake Bell, Jason Biggs, and Lindsay Sloane star in the story of a woman who discovers her new boyfriend is being haunted by the bitchy ghost of his former fiancee.
I’m pretty sure the only reason I’m posting this is because Paul Rudd is in it. I’m certainly not posting it because it looks hilarious. It looks like a watchable date movie. And by that I mean, a movie that your girlfriend might try to drag you to that you won’t have to make up an excuse for. Watch the trailer and see the poster after the jump.
