Are you still watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? There’s a chance the answer is “no,” based on an informal straw poll I’ve just taken with friends I know had been very interested in the series at first. Marvel is trying a few new tricks to bring viewers to (or back to) the show, such as adding Bill Paxton for a multi-episode arc as Agent John Garrett, and Elene Satine will play the Asgardian villain Lorelei.
Another new addition to the show will be the character Deathlok, just in time for the character’s 40th anniversary. In an interesting twist he’ll be played by an actor already associated with the show, and this is a character addition that was planned some time ago. Read More »

While nothing has been said officially, TV By The Numbers and IGN are reporting that ABC has picked up the Marvel television series spin-off Agents of SHIELD for a debut this Fall.
While ABC has not made an official announcement, they briefly (likely accidentally) published a video on their youtube page, a viral teaser for the upcoming show. The video shows some captured video of The Incredible Hulk causing destruction, captured from a distance. A small logo/badge that reads “Rising Tide” appears on the lower right hand part of the screen. While ABC has removed the video, it seems to still online elsewhere (for now). Joss Whedon‘s habit of calling back former Whedonverse alums is well established. But with the exception of Clark Gregg, who’ll reprise his role from the movies as Agent Phil Coulson, the cast of S.H.I.E.L.D. has so far been populated with all-new faces. (Well, new to Whedon.)
