Civil War Superhero Registration

One of the biggest story arcs to hit Marvel Comics was Civil War, an event that had an impact on the entire Marvel universe from 2006-2007. And that’s why Marvel Studios making Captain America: Civil War is such a big deal to fans of the cinematic universe.

However, it seems that some haven’t figured out, or maybe just haven’t heard, that the movie will not be taking the primary catalyst for the conflict that arises between Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) from the comic books and bringing it to the big screen.

The Civil War comic book conflict comes when superheroes are divided by something called the Superhero Registration Act, forcing any superhero to reveal their identities to the public and be put into a database for all to see. But the Captain America Civil War superhero registration plot element isn’t being used. So what’s the story? Read More »

Captain America Civil War teams

Now that Phase Two is complete, fans of the Marvel cinematic universe have their eyes set on Phase Three, which kicks off with Captain America: Civil War next March. And this particular sequel is even more exciting than most, because our favorite superheroes will be fighting each other this time.

However, we haven’t really heard much about who will take what side when Captain America and Iron Man come to blows over something called the Sokovia Accords, which seems to be some kind of form of the Superhero Registration Act from the comics, or at least a type of government oversight for the Avengers. But a new rumor has pinpointed where our heroes’ loyalties lie, including Spider-Man.

Grand Theft Auto Iron Man mod

Even though the newest edition of Grand Theft Auto is always something that gets people excited, like any other video game, it gets old after awhile. Sometimes not even expansion packs can make it much more exciting.

However, there are gamers out there who are much more skilled with computers than the average gamer, and they craft some pretty awesome mods to be thrown into a game like Grand Theft Auto V. For example, JulioNIB, who has been creating mods for the video game franchise for a few years now, has been working in an Iron Man suit that allows you to fly around Los Santos, shooting repulsor beams from the character’s hands and chest.

Marvel cinematic universe breakdown

Even if you’re a fan of Marvel Studios movies since they created their own cinematic universe that began with Iron Man in 2008, there’s still some pretty confusing elements that have surfaced throughout the first two phases of these interconnected comic book franchises, especially if you’re not a die hard Marvel fan.

Thankfully, YouTube user Garcatch has decided to put together an unhelpful, overly snarky, breakdown of the entire Marvel cinematic universe so far. If you’ve been watching the Marvel movies so far, you won’t find any new information here. But you will find a series of quips trying to describe the motion picture phenomenon in eight minutes.

How much did Robert Downey Jr make

A couple years ago, Robert Downey Jr. hinted that he might be done with superhero movies once he hit age 50. That birthday arrived this past spring, and thankfully Downey is currently filming a key role in Captain America: Civil War, leaving one more film in his latest contract with Marvel for an appearance in one part of The Avengers: Infinity War.

But Marvel Studios didn’t lock down the actor who turned Iron Man and Tony Stark into a big screen icon, launching their cinematic universe, without paying a hefty price tag. In fact, Downey just landed a spot on the annual list of the wealthiest celebrities as the eighth highest paid actor, and it all came from his paychecks for Captain America: Civil War and The Avengers: Age of Ultron. How much did Robert Downey Jr make? Find out after the jump. Read More »

Iron Man Honest Trailer

Marvel Studios may not have a panel at Comic-Con this week, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take time to look back at the film that has helped make the pop culture convention even bigger.

Iron Man was the first film to kick off the Marvel cinematic universe, the beginning of a lead-up to the assembly of The Avengers on the big screen for the first time ever. It still stands as one of the best films Marvel has made, but that doesn’t mean it’s immune to a skewering from the folks at Honest Trailers. They even take the time for a jab at The Incredible Hulk.
