Since we’ve had two releases from Marvel Studios this year, there’s been plenty of talk about ranking the movies in the Marvel cinematic universe. But with 20th Century Fox’s reboot of Fantastic Four hitting theaters this weekend (for better or worse), we thought it was a good time to rank all the Marvel movies that exist outside of the MCU, which include Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, all the X-Men films and more.
Check out all the other non-MCU Marvel movies ranked after the jump! Read More »

Back in April, during publicity rounds for The Avengers: Age of Ultron, some new information surfaced regarding the future of The Incredible Hulk, and whether or not Marvel Studios had plans for Mark Ruffalo to get his own solo Hulk movie.
A somewhat surprising reason surfaced as to why a new Hulk movie wasn’t in the works. Ruffalo said that Universal (which made the two previous big-screen outings for the big guy) still had the rights to any future Hulk movies, putting a kink in any plans Marvel might have. However, it turns out that’s not entirely true, and Universal may not be holding up Marvel at all. Find out more about the Universal Hulk rights after the jump! Read More »
Just yesterday, we learned that director Joss Whedon ended up cutting what would have been Hulk’s best scene from The Avengers: Age of Ultron. While we don’t know what the scene entailed for sure, there’s a chance it could pop up in another Marvel film sometime down the road. However, it turns out another change to the big guy was also planned for the Marvel sequel. The original plan was for one of the major action sequences to have Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) become Grey Hulk in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Read More »
Every member of The Avengers gets at least one big moment to shine in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, with Vision and Hawkeye probably coming out on top. But one of the core members of the team, arguably the favorite from the first superhero assembly, had what would have been one of their greatest moments taken away. In a recent interview, director Joss Whedon said that the best Hulk scene in The Avengers: Age of Ultron was cut. Read More »

Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk emerged as one of the highlights of 2012’s The Avengers, and he has even more to do in this weekend’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. But let’s not forget that Ruffalo’s Hulk is actually the third big-screen incarnation of the character. The first was Eric Bana‘s version, in 2003’s Hulk directed by Ang Lee.
In the latest installment of their Honest Trailers series, the Screen Junkies gang takes aim at that original Hulk movie, by their estimation “the most forgettable movie about a giant rage-filled monster ever made.” Watch the Hulk Honest Trailer after the jump. Read More »

Guardians of the Galaxy is still about two weeks away from release, but the buzz on the film has begun. Guardians screened last week for members of the press and the cast and crew have begun to do interviews to promote it. Because the buzz was so strong, and the film boldly declares “The Guardians of the Galaxy will return,” talk of course turned to a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. That poses its own questions. Mainly, who would direct and what would the story be? Gunn was very particular on the press day, saying he’d like to come back and that he feels an ownership over the characters. He and Marvel Studios present Kevin Feige also denied that a Guardians of the Galaxy 2 would include the Hulk, in response to recent rumors. Read quotes from both James Gunn and Kevin Feige below. It’s a question we’ve been asking for several years. “How is Marvel going to use the Hulk outside of The Avengers?’ The studio made a solo film starring Edward Norton some years back, itself a reboot of a less successful solo film by Ang Lee. But most felt the character wasn’t right until Joss Whedon’s version in The Avengers. Now Phase Two is almost over, but we haven’t seen the return of the Hulk, and won’t until the Avengers: Age of Ultron. So what’s next?
Mark Ruffalo, the actor now playing the role, has confirmed he and Marvel Studios have been thinking more about a new Hulk solo movie and Kevin Feige has long said we won’t see a Hulk movie until Phase Three. Ruffalo also added the long standing rumor of a Planet Hulk film was probably not in the cards. “I think you need more Banner,” he said. “The whole thing is just him as Hulk, on a planet, fighting other gladiators.”
Normally that would settle that argument, but this is 2014. J.J. Abrams swore Khan wasn’t in Star Trek Into Darkness. Marion Cotillard promised she wasn’t Talia al Ghul in The Dark Knight Rises. These days actors, filmmakers and publicists sometimes have to lie about major surprises. So is Ruffalo lying about Planet Hulk and Phase Three? Yes and no, says HitFix. The specific answer delves into some pretty big Avengers: Age of Ultron spoilers, which you can read after the jump. Read More »
