It was a star-studded weekend on Reddit. Not only did director James Cameron do an AMA, legendary actor Harrison Ford did one, too. Both were promoting the environmental documentary Years of Living Dangerously. As things tend to do, each went awesomely off-topic. In Ford’s case, he admitted he still hopes a Blade Runner 2 get made but has yet to see a script. He talked about playing Han Solo and Indiana Jones as well as some of those characters’ more interesting quirks. His recent roles in Anchorman 2 and Expendables 3 were brought up and much more. Unfortunately, there was no mention of Star Wars Episode VII or Indiana Jones 5 but read all the highlights of the Harrison Ford AMA below. Read More »

A second Expendables 3 trailer has just been released. It asks that you “hang on for one last ride.” However, with a cast like this (Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kellen Lutz, Ronda Roussey, Harrison Ford, Kelsey Grammer, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas and Mel Gibson to name a few), it’s hard to imagine The Expendables won’t be back again (and again). Especially since this latest trailer looks bigger than the last two films in every single way. It features the first actual footage we’ve seen from the August 15 release, including tons of action, attitude, humor and a roll call of the entire roster. Check out the latest Expendables 3 trailer below. Read More »

Briefly: Harrison Ford hasn’t done a straight drama in a couple years, but now he’s going to take a major role in The Age of Adaline. The film is actually perhaps more in the “magical realism” category — think of it like a female-led version of Forrest Gump, or Benjamin Button, as the story features a light fantasy element, and harbors epic ambitions.
Here’s the plot of The Age of Adaline: “[The film] follows the miraculous life of 29-year old Adaline, who stops aging after recovering from a near-fatal accident. Over the course of the 20th century she embarks on an epic, but isolated worldwide journey, keeping her secret, until she meets a man who forever alters her life.”
The co-stars of the “romantic drama” are Blake Lively and Ellen Burstyn. Presumably Ford is the man who “forever alters” the life of Blake Lively, and if he does it through romantic attention that could be… interesting. I just hope he gets to yell “no, you’re Adaline!”
J. Mills Goodloe and Salvador Paskowitz wrote; Allison Burnett polished the script; Lee Toland Krieger (Celeste & Jesse Forever) directs.
How about some juicy Star Wars rumors for your weekend? These come from The Hollywood Reporter, who say much has changed with Star Wars Episode VII since original screenwriter Michael Arndt left the project last year. Reportedly Arndt wanted the film to focus on the offspring of the original trilogy characters (Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo) while director J.J. Abrams wanted Episode VII to focus on those characters, keeping the offspring in the background until Episode VIII and Episode IX.
Meanwhile, while this shake up was going on, Abrams continued to take meetings with all kinds of actors. Pretty much anyone that’s previously been reported (Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael B. Jordan, etc.) took a meeting as well as new names Michael Fassbender, Adam Driver and Hugo Weaving. Read More »

As a 71-year-old man who’s played both Han Solo and Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford ought to be pretty tough to amaze. Sure, it’s not like he was battling real space aliens or actual Nazis, but he’s been a rich, powerful icon of Hollywood long enough to see some crazy stuff. And yet, apparently not even he is immune to the charms of an expertly executed card trick.
Magician David Blaine has been stopping by celeb homes to perform illusions for his recent TV special David Blaine: Real or Magic. Most have responded with great enthusiasm, but arguably the best reaction is Ford’s. Watch the clip after the jump.
