A couple weeks back it was rumored that a third Gremlins film was in the very early stages of development, and that it was being created with 3-D in mind. If that is true, someone forgot to tell executive producer Steven Spielberg and screenwriter (now director) Chris Columbus.
The Gremlins have returned! No, Gremlins 3 hasn’t been given the greenlight. Although, I’m sure some Hollywood executive is sitting at his desk reading this thinking “Now, there’s an idea!” In this new advertisement for BT’s tech support services, the critters from the 1980s film Gremlins do their best to scupper a late night in the office for Dragons’ Den star Peter Jones. Nothing bothers me more than a movie studio ruining my childhood favorites with direct to DVD sequels. Don’t get me wrong, I can understand the market of a Wild Things 3, Dukes of Hazard 2 or even American Pie series spin-offs. But when the studios decide to sequelize good movies purely for home video profit, It makes me very angry.
