Final Destination 5 opens this week, and you really don’t want to go into this latest sequel in which death is not the end without knowing your Final Destination death history. So here, for the purposes of research only, is a supercut of every death in the franchise. And because character and story are hardly the point when it comes to these films, this is really the best way to catch up.

If have have to tell you that this video is not safe for work, you either work somewhere really permissive and great, or you’ve got no idea what this series is all about. But just to be safe: not safe for work. Read More »

This is a pretty simple equation: led by Miles Fisher, the cast of Final Destination 5 has spent some perfectly good Warner Bros. money on a promo video for the splatter sequel, in which a school full of characters very much like those from Saved by the Bell are killed in horrifying ways. And it’s all set to a peppy pop song called ‘New Romance.’ Want to see a famous actor partially decapitated by a record shot out of an exploding jukebox? Delights such as that are waiting below.  Read More »

Final Destination isn’t the kind of franchise that surprises — if you’ve seen any of the four previous installments, you probably already have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Final Destination 5. We were treated to a 3-D clip from the upcoming film, showing that scene familiar from any Final Destination movie: the moment when one of the characters has a horrifying vision of death, prompting him to get off the airplane / highway / roller coaster / stands / bus just before it comes true. Read details of the footage after the jump.

‘Final Destination 5′ Trailer #2

The other day in a post about the trailer for The Myth of the American Sleepover I mused about how memories of first love are one of the batteries that powers cinema. Well, one of the other batteries is the thrill of seeing another human bite it. And so enter the Final Destination series, which since the first sequel has been defying its own name while drawing in audiences happy to spend 90 minutes watching a cast of young hopefuls being offed in creative ways.

The fifth film in the series opens in just over a month, and you can see the second full trailer for Final Destination 5 after the break. Read More »

What adult woman brings a teddy bear to comfort her during Lasik? Thankfully, the answer is: one of the characters in Final Destination 5. The trailer for the fifth film in the ‘kids cheat death’ series is out and it shows what happens when you mess with death and then put yourself in the path of lasers and hot tar, or settle down for a nice acupuncture session. Check the trailer after the break but be aware — spoiler! — David Koechner‘s fate is revealed. Read More »

Most space shuttle launches have a countdown to blast off but Apollo 18 seems to be counting up towards its release. The Timur Bekmambetov-produced, Moon-based, found footage horror film is now the proud owner of four release dates and counting. It was first supposed to be released in March. From there it was moved to April, then January 2012 and now it’s back in 2011. Dimension Films has rescheduled Apollo 18 for a August 26 launch.

But isn’t there already a big time horror movie scheduled for that date? Not anymore. In response to Dimension’s move, New Line has pushed up Final Destination 5 a few weeks to August 12.

Thanks to Bloody Disgusting for the heads up. Click here for more info on Apollo 18 and here for more on Final Destination 5.
