A casting rumor from last week regarding Fast and Furious 6 has now been confirmed and with it comes our first hint at what the plot might hold. Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans, Immortals, The Hobbit) has now officially worked out his schedule and will star opposite Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson in the Justin Lin-directed sequel, which is scheduled for release May 24, 2013.

Evans will play the head of a rival crew who is trying to pull off the same heist as our heroes. Read more after the jump. Read More »

Luke Evans Offered ‘Fast Six’ Villain Role

Whether or not Rihanna really is joining Fast Six as a baddie remains to be seen, but if she does, she may have some company on the dark side. A new report has surfaced indicating that Luke Evans has just been offered the villain role in the sequel, directed by Justin Lin. It’s the same part that Jason Statham was in very early talks for back in October, but it seems the production has now moved on to a fresher face. Hit the jump for more.

An abundance of booty shorts, bikinis and slow motion dancing haven’t exactly made the first five Fast and Furious movies girl-power milestones. However, Justin Lin‘s Fast and Furious 6/Fast Six looks like it might change that. The post-credits scene in Fast Five hints at the return of not one, but two of the franchise’s more empowering female characters.
