There isn’t a lot of new footage from Wes Anderson‘s new film Moonrise Kingdom in the behind the scenes featurette that arrived today (there is some new stuff) but there are some really lovely shots of the director and crew at work. Various participants in the film, including co-writer Roman Coppola and actors Jason Schwartzman, Ed Norton, Bruce Willis, Bob Balaban, and Tilda Swinton, explain some of the basics of the film, giving up a few new character details as they do.
The really good stuff, from my perspective, is the sidelong view of some of the film’s sets and locations. Anderson is such a meticulous stylist that there is a lot to see in his sets, and we get to see a couple of great glimpses of stuff built for the film in this featurette. We’ve seen some of this in the 20 minutes of behind the scenes b-roll that was released not long ago. But if you were worried about seeing too much of the film before the fact in that footage, this is the spoiler-free way to get a look at the set. Check it out below. Read More »

With Wes Anderson‘s new film Moonrise Kingdom to premiere soon at the Cannes Film Festival, we’re going to start seeing a lot more materials from the strange little tale in the coming weeks. Already this week we’ve seen a set of character posters, and now we’ve got the first clip from the film that tells the story of two young kids who fall in love and run away to make a new life together, leaving their home town in disarray.
In deference to those who don’t want to see or know any more than they have to before sitting down to watch the full film, I’ll keep real info about the clip for after the break. But it is pure Wes Anderson, and a nice taste of the personality projected by Bruce Willis in the film.
Update: Two other clips appeared during the night, and we’ve collected them here.

Here’s the Japanese teaser trailer for The Bourne Legacy, in which previous Bourne series writer Tony Gilroy directs Jeremy Renner in a film that expands the fictional world of the Bourne films. Renner isn’t the successor to Matt Damon exactly; rather, he’s a parallel character in the same world. Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz are featured in addition to Renner.
While there isn’t too much new footage here, there is just enough to be worth a look, especially as we were pretty impressed with the US teaser. Read More »
Part sequel, part spin-off, but all action-packed spy thriller, The Bourne Legacy is the rare live action summer blockbuster without aliens or superheros. It stars Jeremy Renner as an agent who, much like Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne of the first three films, is a highly trained killing machine, triggered into action in a story related to the events of those first three movies. Tony Gilroy, the screenwriter of the earlier Bourne films, who also happens to be an Oscar-nominated director, is at the helm with a supporting cast including new additions Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz as well as series regulars Albert Finney, Joan Allen and Scott Glenn.
New photos from the film have come online revealing our first look at Norton’s villain in the film and Gilroy confirmed that the shakey-cam action style pioneers in the first movies won’t be present here. There’s that and much more after the break. Read More »

Cool Posts From Around the Web:
When Universal gave Tony Gilroy a mandate to make a new Bourne film that might establish a series parallel to the existing trilogy starring Matt Damon, he pledged a story that would take place in the same world and expand upon some background elements seen in the three Damon films.
To that effect he has been recruiting actors who aren’t Matt Damon but who did play important roles in the existing trilogy. Not long ago he pulled in Joan Allen and Albert Finney to reprise their roles, and now he’s got Scott Glenn back in the fold as well. The actor will once again play CIA director Ezra Kramer in The Bourne Legacy. But not until after he plays a part in Precious director Lee Daniels‘ new film The Paperboy. Read More »
