A lot of the reviews I’ve read of this fall’s new series seem to keep returning to the same theme: television comedy is making a comeback. This upcoming television season will also debut a bunch of shows set in the 1960’s. I’m sure this new trend is somehow a result of Mad Men‘s popularity.
- The Playboy Club will premiere on Mondays at 10pm this Fall on NBC. Eddie Cibrian and Amber Heard star in a drama which “explores the lives of Playboy bunnies toiling at the Playboy Club in 1960s Chicago.”
- Pan Am will premiere on Sundays at 10pm this Fall on ABC. Christina Ricci stars in this new series which promises to be “Mad Men’s style meets Grey’s Anatomy’s entanglements in this thrilling and highly original new drama from producer Nancy Hult Ganis (a former stewardess), writer Jack Orman (ER) and director Tommy Schlamme (The West Wing).”
