Over a year after we first heard about it, Danny McBride‘s comedy Bullies is finally coming together. Commercial director Randy Krallman has closed a deal to helm the feature, which will be his first. Krallman is the creative mind behind those ubiquitous E*Trade baby ads and has won several accolades for his work, including the Clio. In addition, the project is expected to begin casting shortly. More details after the jump.

A couple weeks ago when talking about Jay and Seth Vs the Apocalypse, the feature version of a short film he took part in years ago, Seth Rogen said “It’s now much more than just Jay and Seth — there’s many other people vs. the apocalypse now. It’s gonna be crazy.” Now we know who a lot of those other people are. In addition to Rogen and Jay Baruchel — the title characters — Rogen says that quite a few of his frequent co-stars are now part of the movie. So expect to see Danny McBride, James Franco and more in the film. Read More »

The summer of 2011 is coming to a close and the final big studio comedy coming our way is 30 Minutes or Less, director Ruben Fleischer‘s post Zombieland/pre-Gangster Squad comedy starring Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride and Nick Swardson. In the film, which is loosely based on a true story, a pizza delivery boy (Eisenberg) has a bomb strapped to him by two thugs (McBride and Swardson) and is forced to rob a bank. A simple premise that, when you watch this new, restricted footage reel, is obviously prime for a ton of jokes, most of which have to do with sexual gratification.
Watch the video after the jump. The footage is tame but the language is decidedly NSFW, so get those headphones out. Read More »

In Eastbound and Down, Kenny Powers has stood atop the worlds of baseball and pure assholery. (If that wasn’t a word, it is now.) His latest achievement is to land as king of the hill in the business of sports apparel. Kenny Powers is now the CEO of K-Swiss, and he’s going to destroy the world of product marketing and branding, the better to rebuild it in his own image. His approach to business is explained in a video after the break. It is laden with guest appearances, including Michael Bay. And, as anyone familiar with Eastbound and Down would likely assume, this is some NSFW shit. Read More »

I’m going to ignore any questions of taste and/or ethics that might possibly be involved in turning a violent, very messed up real-life robbery into, well, a slightly messed-up comedy. Instead I’m just going to take a moment to appreciate the fact that this second red-band trailer for Ruben Fleischer‘s Zombieland follow-up 30 Minutes or Less makes the film look pretty damn funny. It’s got one of the better kickers to end a trailer in some time. Check it out below. Read More »

Back in August of last year, I was flown out (along with a number of other press members) to Grand Rapids, Michigan to spend a day on the set of 30 Minutes or Less and talk with director Ruben Fleischer (Zomebieland) and cast members Jesse Eisenberg, Aziz Ansari, Danny McBride, Nick Swardson, and Dilshad Vadsaria. You can learn all about the experience here, and if you haven’t yet, be sure to check out the film’s red band trailer to see what all the fuss is about.
We’ll be posting the remaining interviews throughout the week — our group interview with Fleischer has already been posted — but for now, here’s our discussion with Danny McBride and Nick Swardson. Read More »
