Prometheus polarizes plenty of Alien fans, but we can all likely agree Michael Fassbender‘s performance is not one of that film’s problems. David is curious, darkly funny, sinister, and, despite being an android, has the most interior life among thew crew of the Prometheus. We’ll see David return in next summer’s Alien: Covenant, but as we know, he’s not the only android played by Fassbender in Sir Ridley Scott‘s sequel.
Below, Michael Fassbender discusses his new Alien Covenant android and what to expect from him.

Before the year ends, we’ll see if the Alien: Covenant trailer causes as much excitement as the Prometheus teaser did almost exactly four years ago. As we wait to get our first look at footage from Sir Ridley Scott‘s prequel-sequel, details about the trailer have arrived online, including the fact it’ll feature a cover song by the late David Bowie. Three new photos from the film have also hit the web along with a video of James Franco confirming his involvement in Alien: Covenant and an intriguing quote from Scott.

After launching the Planet of the Apes prequel franchise with Rise of the Planet of the Apes, renaissance man James Franco has joined another blockbuster prequel franchise.
Even though production on Alien: Covenant has been done for awhile, we’re just now learning that James Franco has a role in in the prequel sequel. That means we’re getting James Franco and Danny McBride in an Alien movie, and that’s just weird to think about.
Find out more about James Franco in Alien Covenant after the jump, but beware that learning about his role dives into a bit of spoiler territory. Read More »
Prometheus concludes with the Trilobite and the Engineer giving birth to The Deacon. The baby blue-skinned alien hardly ended Sir Ridley Scott‘s film with a bang. Will we ever see that Xenomorph-like creature ever again or was it simply a moment of underwhelming fan service? We’ll have to wait and find out, but we do know the name of the aliens wreaking havoc in next summer’s Alien: Covenant is not “Deacons.”
Below, get some information on the new Xenomorph (SPOILERS ahead).

This is a pretty good summer for Danny McBride. He has his latest HBO show, Vice Principals, premiering soon, and he’s currently shooting Ridley Scott‘s Alien: Covenant in Australia. Co-creating another potential success like Eastbound & Down and getting to work on an Alien movie? That’s hardly a bad way to spend the summer. When we heard about McBride’s casting in the sequel, his role was unclear, but the actor says he’s playing the captain of the spacecraft Covenant.
Below, Danny McBride discusses Alien: Covenant.

Production on Alien: Covenant is happening right now, and so far we’ve gotten a couple of behind-the-scenes sneak peeks showing Katherine Waterston on the titular ship, as well as the return of Michael Fassbender as the android David. Now we get a first look at one of the other new cast members who may be the most intriguing part of the talent roster.
Danny McBride is part of the Covenant crew, and while we don’t know his character’s name just yet, a new photo from the set shows him getting direction from Ridley Scott while on the bridge of the ship that will likely have plenty of blood splattered all over it before the film is over. See the new Alien Covenant photo after the jump. Read More »
Cool Posts From Around the Web:
After teaming up for the raunchy comedy series Eastbound & Down on HBO, director David Gordon Green and star Danny McBride return to the network this summer with Vice Principals. This time the show follows Danny McBride as a vice princpial competing with Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight) for the recently vacated position as principal at Lincoln High School, and these two childish grown-ups aren’t beyond sabotaging each other in inappropriate ways.
A new Vice Principals trailer has arrived, and HBO is finally using the presence of Bill Murray in the pilot as the retiring principal of Lincoln High School. In the new glimpse for the show, Murray has some advice for McBride and Goggins before they start competing for his job. Watch below. Read More »
On Alien Day last month, director Ridley Scott offered our first look at the production of Alien: Covenant by way of the mission patch with the name of the title ship we’ll be following. This is just the first of what is meant to be two sequels (even though Scott once said this was the first in a new trilogy) that lead us up to the events of Alien in 1979. Production is still underway, and a new photo has just been shared from the set that provides us with our first look at Katherine Waterston as the new female lead character, Daniels. Will she be as cool as Ellen Ripley?
