It’s been a couple weeks since a surprise trailer for the comedy sequel Dundee grabbed our attention. Danny McBride starred in the teaser as the estranged American son of Crocodile Dundee who comes to Australia to find his missing father. As time went on, new footage revealed the likes of Chris Hemsworth and Hugh Jackman being part of the project, but then we learned it was all an elaborate gag to promote Australian tourism, and that was that.

Even though Dundee isn’t real, we’ve enjoyed seeing how it all played out, especially when the trailer featuring Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Isla Fisher and other Aussie stars debuted online. And it all came to a head during the Super Bowl last night when the final commercial aired where Danny McBride finally realized that this wasn’t a real movie. Read More »

Dundee Trailer

Even though Dundee has been confirmed to be nothing more than a Super Bowl commercial stunt promoting Australian tourism, that doesn’t mean we’re not interested in seeing every bit of footage shot for this fake movie starring Danny McBride as the estranged American son of the one and only Crocodile Dundee. So far, clips have revealed Chris Hemsworth and Hugh Jackman as being part of the cast, but now a full trailer has unveiled the entire Australian cast line-up, and damn, is it impressive.

Dundee Clip - Hugh Jackman

Just over a week ago, the internet was surprised to learn about the existence of a Crocodile Dundee sequel when a surprise trailer was released online featuring Danny McBride as the famous outback bushman’s American son, who is coming to Australia in search of his missing father. No one was sure if this was a real movie, and the addition of Chris Hemsworth in further footage from the movie, dubbed simply Dundee, only added to that mystery.

Well, in the time since the first Dundee trailer was released, we’ve learned that this is unfortunately not a real movie, but instead some kind of elaborate advertising stunt for Australian tourism meant to be part of the commercial extravaganza that is the Super Bowl. But that doesn’t mean we’re any less interested in seeing just how far this fake Dundee movie goes. In fact, we have a new Dundee clip which adds Australian actor Hugh Jackman into the mix. By now, we all know that Dundee, the out-of-nowhere sequel starring Danny McBride as the long-lost son of Crocodile Dundee, is not actually a movie, but rather an elaborate bit of marketing for a Super Bowl ad. Still, that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the bonkers stuff this fake movie keeps putting out. Like this brand new Dundee clip, where McBride tries to tame a water buffalo.

Arizona review

Jonathan Watson, the longtime assistant director on films as varied as Bad Boys and The Truman Show, makes his directorial debut with Arizona, a thriller set in the midst of the late 2000s economic housing crisis that stars Rosemarie DeWitt as a single mom realtor on the run from a deranged homeowner played by Danny McBride. While DeWitt is the ostensible lead, Arizona is more of a showcase for McBride’s particular set of comedic skills, and as the hunt intensifies, it takes us on a tour through a section of America that was left decimated by the hubris of Wall Street. I’ll be perfectly honest: they had me going for a second.

When the first trailer for Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home arrived last week, the internet let out a collective “Whaaaaaa-?” and proceeded to wonder if this Crocodile Dundee sequel, about the long lost American son of Paul Hogan’s iconic Australian hero (played by Danny McBride), was actually real. It couldn’t be! And now, it’s become increasingly clear that it’s all a big gag, the first step in a marketing campaign for Australian tourism that will air during the Super Bowl.

Last week, the first Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home trailer arrived and the /Film staff had a good laugh because this surely had to be a joke. A Crocodile Dundee sequel starring Danny McBride as the long lost American son of Paul Hogan‘s semi-iconic Australian movie character? Someone was pulling our leg. This was a prank. A joke. A tease for some other project, possibly involving McBride’s gaggle of gag-prone comedy buddies.

But here we are, a few days later, and a second Dundee trailer has arrived. And this one features Chris Hemsworth, rocking his natural Australian accent. What is this? When did they make this? What reality have we fallen into? Is this just a big prank and are we playing into someone’s hands?

Alright, I’m going to need an explanation here. A trailer has arrived, seemingly out of nowhere, advertising a new Crocodile Dundee sequel featuring Danny McBride as the son of the famous outback hunter. Is this real? Is this a joke? I really don’t know. The world doesn’t make any sense anymore. Keep reading for more info on this (possibly fake?) Crocodile Dundee sequel.

Danny McBride co-writing a new Halloween movie with Superbad director David Gordon Green sounds like a joke, but the Vice Principals star is taking this thing very seriously. In a new interview, McBride spoke about making the series scary again, getting Jamie Lee Curtis to return, and trying to honor a series beloved by so many. That last one is admittedly tricky when you’re literally ignoring every single movie in the franchise except the original, but hey, if there’s one horror series that needs emergency surgery to stay alive, it’s Halloween.
