By now we’ve all seen trailers and footage from Jon Favreau’s upcoming genre-mixer Cowboys & Aliens in which Daniel Craig‘s character uses a weapon around his wrist to shoot down a spaceship. It’s a scene from early in the movie that gives the audience an idea of what to expect without giving away too much. However, no matter where you saw the scene – be it at Comic Con, in a theater, or online – Favreau always cuts it off soon after, leaving us begging for more. More is finally here.

This latest clip from the July 29 release is a continuation, not immediate but seemingly close, of that scene and features not only a tease at the aliens in the film but a little mano-a-mano showdown between Han Solo and James Bond, aka Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig. On his latest film Cowboys and Aliens, director Jon Favreau has decided to take the EPK interviews into his own hands and record conversations with the cast and crew.  I love that Favreau is doing this, my only complaint is that I wish he would release the interview in long form, not broken up into highlight clips. A couple weeks back we posted Favreau’s sit-down interview with the film’s co-star Harrison Ford.  Today we bring you Favreau’s sitdown with producers Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. Hit the jump to watch the video clips now.

I have to confess I’ve been only mildly curious about Cowboys & Aliens, Jon Favreau‘s adaptation of Scott Mitchell Rosenberg‘s sci-fi Western comic. Though I like the concept in theory, and though I’m a fan of Favreau as well as stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, and Olivia Wilde, something about the earlier trailers haven’t quite done it for me.

That’s changing now, though. This new “extended sneak peek,” which aired at the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards on Friday, has definitely pushed Cowboys & Aliens up a few places on my “most-anticipated summer movies” list. It’s more action-heavy than the earlier full-length trailer, and in my opinion looks way more exciting. Check it out after the jump.

‘Cowboys & Aliens’ Trailer

Thursday night during American Idol, Universal Pictures and director Jon Favreau premiered the theatrical trailer for the upcoming Summer blockbuster Cowboys & Aliens. Starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde, the big budget, western sci-fi hybrid is scheduled for release on July 29. Up until now we’ve seen a teaser trailer, a Super Bowl commercial and attendees of Comic Con, Butt-Numb-A-Thon and WonderCon have seen extended scenes, but this is by far the most revealing look yet. And it does so without spoiling as much as one would expect.

For those of us without the willpower to watch American Idol, and even for those who did, the trailer is now online. Check it out and leave your thoughts after the jump. Read More »
