In addition to confirming that Matt Ryan will appear on an Arrow episode as John Constantine, Mark Pedowitz, President of The CW, spoke to the Television Critics Association today about the reasons the company passed on Supergirl, and how The CW’s superhero lineup has evolved to include three shows.
All told, his comments give some insight into the evolution of The CW slate, and also caution us not to take the Constantine/Arrow crossover news as indication of a back door pilot plan. Read More »
Constantine, the show, may be cancelled, but John Constantine, the character, isn’t dead. And thanks to a new deal that confirms a rumor that began in the past few weeks, we’ll see John Constantine on Arrow, at least briefly. Once again, he’ll be played by actor Matt Ryan, who starred in the short-lived NBC series. The CW announced the Constantine/Arrow crossover as set for an episode of Arrow‘s fourth season.

Sorry, Constantine fans: the show is really, truly, officially dead. Following its cancellation at NBC last month, Warner Bros. TV attempted to find a new show for the series. The #SaveConstantine campaign is now in full swing, and one fan who’s definitely willing to do his part is Stephen Amell. The Arrow star has proposed a crossover featuring the two DC Comics characters, promising to guest star on Constantine if a new network picks it up.
