We’ve been following the Total Recall remake for a few years now, wondering what to expect from the retooled adaptation of Philip K. Dick‘s short story. We’ve already covered some of the differences between Len Wiseman‘s new version and Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 film, but a new interview has surfaced indicating that at least one key aspect will stay the same: the new Total Recall will most definitely include an appearance by a three-breasted woman, just as the original Total Recall did. The ubiquitous Michael Fassbender will be joining fellow Irishmen Gabriel Byrne, Colin Farrell, Cillian Murphy and Domhnall Gleeson in Brendan Gleeson‘s directorial debut, a big-screen adaptation of Flann O’Brien‘s classic novel At Swim-Two-Birds. The project has been a long time in the works — Gleeson initially acquired the book rights seven years ago — but it seems to finally be picking up steam thanks to some new financers. Shooting is scheduled to begin next spring.
First published in 1939, At Swim-Two-Birds is considered one of the greatest examples of metafiction ever written. The plot revolves around a university student and writer whose characters rebel and eventually conspire to kill him. Although I’ve never read the novel, that all-star cast seems like reason enough to get excited for the film. [ThePlaylist]
After the jump, Isabelle Huppert joins a mystery project and Roswell FM gets two more stars.

The international movie trailer for Woody Allen’s next film, Cassandra’s Dream is now online. The film tells the story of two Cockney brothers (Collin Farrell and Ewan McGregor) in south London and their relationship with a young woman (Hayley Atwell) who lands in London on her search for fortune. She crosses the two men by accident on her path and when one them falls in love with her, she becomes aware of her power to attract the opposite sex and uses this to the point of leading the two brothers, who are in financial difficulty, into crime, and creating a dangerous rivalry between the two men.
It looks pretty interesting. The movie premiered at a film festival in Spain a couple months back and his been very well received (9.1 on imdb). Most people didn’t latch on to Allen’s latest (Scoop), and this looks to be a return to the non-comic genre story that launched his resurgence (Match Point) a couple years ago.
