Even though Chloe Grace Moretz has been taking very mature roles throughout her career as a young actress, she’s now 18 years old, and it looks like her first movie as an official adult will have her causing some trouble in college.
The star of Kick-Ass, Let Me In and If I Stay has just been set for a role in Neighbors 2. So far we’ve only heard sparse details on the comedy sequel, but now we have an official title. Find out more about Chloe Moretz joining Neighbors 2, including the title of the film, after the jump! Read More »
Thirty-five million dollars. That’s all that separates the worldwide grosses of the first Kick-Ass, and its sequel, Kick-Ass 2. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but when neither gross is over $100 million, and each cost about $30 million to make, it’s a big percentage. Because of that, plans to continue the franchise either with a Kick-Ass 3 or Hit Girl spin-off have pretty much stalled. Fans still talk about the ideas, though, and so do the filmmakers.
Case in point: Kick-Ass director and sequel producer Matthew Vaughn. In a new interview, he suggests he’d like to do a Kick-Ass prequel, centering on Hit Girl and Big Daddy, as a palate cleanser leading to Kick-Ass 3. Sounds awesome right? Well series co-creator Mark Millar is less optimistic about those movies actually happening. Check out the Vaughn and Miller Kick-Ass prequel and sequel quotes below. Read More »
Bryan Singer once again has the unenviable task of casting two of Marvel’s most iconic X-Men. Back in 2000, the director brought in Famke Janssen and James Marsden to play Jean Grey and Cyclops, rolls that extended through and including this year’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. But now that the series is continuing on with the X-Men: First Class versions of the characters in X-Men Apocalypse, he has to cast those two crucial roles again.
One report says three actors and three actresses are on Singer’s short list for each role. Among them? Chloe Moretz, Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld. Read more about the X-Men Apocalypse Cyclops and Jean Grey casting below. Read More »

True to his word, Steven Soderbergh has retired from the movies for now. But it’s the last part of that phrase — “from the movies” — that’s important, because outside of the movies he’s remained as busy as ever. First, he transitioned into TV with the HBO film Behind the Candelabra. Then he jumped to a historical miniseries at Cinemax called The Knick.
Now he’s preparing to move into another medium altogether. Soderbergh is teaming up with Scott Z. Burns and Chloë Grace Moretz for The Library, an Off Broadway show being put on by New York’s The Public Theater later this year. More about his latest project after the jump.

If there was one upside to the first Kick-Ass 2 trailer being a bit underwhelming, it’s that the marketing has had nowhere to go but up. The film’s looked better and better with each successive trailer, and the one that hit at Comic-Con was the most badass (or kick-ass, if you want to go there) yet.
Today, we have yet another new look at the film, in the form of 10 minutes of B-roll from the Jeff Wadlow-directed sequel. The reels feature quite a few moments we haven’t seen in any of the previous promos, including some smaller character moments and some better looks at the new heroes and villains in action. Check ’em out after the jump.

In the previous trailers for Kick-Ass 2, something seemed to be missing. This is most certainly a sequel to Matthew Vaughn’s film, sure. All the characters are there; the story is a continuation of the first chapter; and new heroes and villains are introduced. Yet something felt off. Writer/director Jeff Wadlow came into San Diego Comic-Con today hoping to change that.
He, along with stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (and Chloe Grace Moretz via satellite) premiered a brand new extended trailer that expands what we’ve already seen from Kick-Ass 2. Significantly. Now the film is starting to look like the kick-ass sequel we’re hoping for.
Below, watch the new trailer and read about the Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Read More »

Chloë Grace Moretz has never been one to shy away from edgy roles, starting with her breakthrough turn as violent, foul-mouthed Hit-Girl in 2010’s Kick-Ass. Even so, her latest gig is bound to raise some eyebrows.

A couple generations after Brian de Palma first brought it to the big screen, Stephen King‘s Carrie is getting a new cinematic interpretation this fall by director Kimberly Peirce. The first teaser trailer hit all the way back last year, and we’ve had plenty of blood-soaked posters since then, but now we finally have a full-length trailer that offers a better idea of Peirce’s updated vision.
This version of the tale stars Chloë Grace Moretz as the telekinetic teen, and Julianne Moore as her unhinged religious mother. Gabriella Wilde, Portia Doubleday, Ansel Elgort, Alex Russell, and Judy Greer also appear. Hit the jump to watch the trailer.
