When Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters April 4, be on the look out for Tony Stark’s Avengers Tower. As a hidden Easter Egg.
At the end of The Avengers, the Stark Tower was decimated, leaving only the “A” as a tease of what’s to come. There was also a brief scene where Stark is clearly seen working on an Avengers Tower. In Iron Man 3, Stark never visits New York as he’s plenty busy in California, Tennessee and Florida but that doesn’t mean the tower hasn’t been under construction. By now you know the drill. As a new Marvel movie is released, Kevin Feige gives us news on what’s coming up next. The biggest Marvel film on the horizon is Avengers: Age of Ultron, written and directed by Joss Whedon. So during the press junket for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, out April 4, questions about all kinds of thing in regards to the sequel were posed to Feige. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a finely tuned machine. Projects and story arcs are mapped out years in advance, and casting choices are made to last. Even so, real life has a way of mucking things up sometimes, and the latest wrench thrown into Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron plans may be Scarlett Johansson‘s pregnancy.
It was revealed yesterday that the 29-year-old is expecting her first child with fiancé Romain Dauriac. And while we wish her and her family all the best, we can’t help wondering how this might affect Black Widow’s future with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now it looks like we have our answer. Thomas Kretschmann is having a huge year, because he stars in Stalingrad, which has been a huge hit in Russia and is doing well in other countries even if it has slid quietly into American theaters. But Kretschmann will invade the US multiplex in 2015 via a significant role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He plays the villainous Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, a long-running Marvel bad guy who wears a monocle and everything.
Strucker doesn’t have a huge role in the Avengers sequel, but like other Marvel actors it turns out that Kretschmann has a multi-picture deal with the company. And so speculation has started about where else Strucker will show up. Read More »
Joss Whedon‘s Avengers: Age of Ultron won’t be out for 14 months, but audiences will get their first sneak peak on TV in 3 weeks. ABC will air a one-hour special called Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe on March 18 at 8 p.m. In it, fans will get an inside look at the studio, including sneak peaks of their next three films: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy and, yes, Avengers: Age of Ultron. The road to the end of Phase Two started last week when production began on Avengers: Age of Ultron. We previously reported the crew, without the major cast members, had traveled to Johannesburg, South Africa to film a sequence that would comprise the first 10 minutes of the film.
