As the race for the year’s most coveted trophies came to a close with this weekend’s Oscars ceremony, another much less prestigious awards competition was just getting started. Nominations have been announced for the 32nd Razzie Awards, handed out to the “worst achievements in film” each year.

Leading the 2012 list is Adam Sandler, whose involvement in Jack and Jill, Bucky Larson, and Just Go With It earned him a record-breaking eleven Razzie nominations. That’s more than twice as many as the previous record holder, Norbit star Eddie Murphy, received in 2007. Other standouts include Nicolas Cage, Ken Jeong, Sarah Palin, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I, and The Hangover Part II. Read the full list of nominees after the jump.

In John Singleton‘s Abduction, Taylor Lautner gets to play out a great teen fantasy: rather than being just another good-looking high-school kid with a caring family, he’s a good-looking kid who is secretly a total badass. He’s so secretly a badass that he doesn’t even know it. That is, not until his adoptive spy parents are taken out, after which he has to go on the run to find out the truth of his own secretly amazing existence.

The first trailer was all about setting up the story and positioning Taylor Lautner as a guy who can act with his shirt on. This new follow-up trailer is much more interested in proving that there is so much action in the movie that it won’t really matter if Lautner can act or not. Check it out below. Read More »

‘Abduction’ Trailer Starring Taylor Lautner

The first trailer for Abduction, starring Twilight‘s Taylor Lautner and Snow White‘s Lily Collins, just came online courtesy of MTV. Directed by John Singleton (Boyz N The Hood), the film stars Lautner as a teenager who sees a picture of himself on a missing person’s website and is subsequently chased by a bunch of mysterious characters. The hardcore action film is set for release on September 23 and sort of looks like a blend of The Bourne Identity and Hanna rolled into The Fugitive with some high school tropes. Check out the trailer after the jump. Read More »

Heroes Actress Elisabeth Röhm Joins Abduction

Elisabeth Röhm

Elisabeth Röhm has joined the cast of John Singleton‘s Bourne-styled teen action film Abduction. The film stars The Twilight Saga: New Moon star Taylor Lautner as a teenager named Nathan “who has long felt disconnected from his parents, and figures out why. That unleashes a chain of violent events.”

After discovering his own baby picture on a missing persons website, he realizes a deep dark secret — his parents kidnapped him as a child and raised him as their own. This realization unlocks a huge conspiracy, and Nathan and his girlfriend must go on the run. I’ve heard it’s Bourne meets Hitchcock for the Twilight Disturbia crowd.

Ricky Business reports that Röhm will play Lautner character’s biological mother, a role in which Emily Mortimer had previously been cast.
