Another Stephen King story is coming to the small screen. 11/22/63, which J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot optioned for TV last year, has just received a straight-to-series order from Hulu.
As the title suggests, 11/22/63 centers on the assassination of JFK. But there’s a supernatural bent — the protagonist is a modern man who travels back in time to try and prevent the tragedy from ever taking place. Hit the jump for more on the 11 22 63 TV series.

John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963. Years later, a man travels back through time to the year 1958. Upon arrival he’s infused with purpose. He has five years to do everything in his power to stop the assassination.

The film and TV adaptation of Stephen King‘s long novel series The Dark Tower may have stalled, but other King projects are moving full speed ahead. We just heard that Harry Potter screenwriter and director Steve Kloves and David Yates would team up to adapt the author’s giant tome The Stand, and now Jonathan Demme is getting in on the King action. He has optioned the author’s next novel, 11/22/63, with an eye toward writing, producing and directing a film based on the story. Read More »
