'Swiss Army Man' Featurette: Learn About Daniel Radcliffe's Magic Animatronic Penis

Daniel Radcliffe has shown that he's not afraid to get nude for the sake of art, with his performance in a stage production of Equus back in the late 2000s. However, when it comes to the big screen, he's not one to flaunt his body around. But in Swiss Army Man, his bare ass proves to be a valuable asset (pun not intended) as the flatulence of his character's corpse helps Paul Dano survive in the woods. And in addition to his gas serving a purpose, Daniel Radcliffe's penis turns out to be immensely helpful as well.

A new Swiss Army Man featurette takes a look at some of the practical effects used in the indie hitting more theaters this weekend, and there's a special focus on Radcliffe's animatronic penis. This was actually teased in the featurette released earlier this week about the creation of the dummy body used in the movie. Find out all about the magical appendage after the jump.

Here's the featurette focusing on Daniel Radcliffe's animatronic penis from A24:

Surely everyone has use for a penis controlled by a joystick, right? That just has to be something that technology will make possible down the road for our own personal, pleasure needs. But in the case of Swiss Army Man, it's just a helpful compass, pointing the way home.

The penis compass is just one of the many uses that Daniel Radcliffe's corpse has in Swiss Army Man. If you want to know more about how the dead body of the Harry Potter star lives up to his name, check out the music video featuring some of the outstanding, quirky score by Andy Hull and Robert McDowell of Manchester Orchestra, which lays out pretty clearly what Paul Dano can do with Daniel Radcliffe's body.

Being stranded on a deserted island leaves young Hank (Paul Dano) bored, lonely and without hope. As a rope hangs around his neck, Hank prepares to end it all, until he suddenly spots a man (Daniel Radcliffe) laying by the shore. Unfortunately, he is dead and quite flatulent. Using the gassy body to his advantage, Hank miraculously makes it back to the mainland. However, he now finds himself lost in the wilderness, and dragging the talking corpse named Manny along for the adventure.

Swiss Army Man expands nationwide to a bunch more theaters this weekend. See it if you can!
