'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Has A Music-Only Cut Available As A Bonus Feature
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is available to bring home today on digital download. That means you can watch the movie as many times as you want, and also check out the feature-length documentary The Director and the Jedi that comes with it. But there's another cool bonus feature that Rian Johnson only just revealed yesterday after the premiere of the aforementioned documentary at SXSW.
For fans who buy Star Wars: The Last Jedi, in any format, there will be a way to access a music-only cut of the movie. That means you'll be able to watch a version of the movie that lets you hear only the Oscar-nominated score composed by John Williams as you watch. The important part about the Star Wars: The Last Jedi music-only cut comes in at the 11:30 mark, but here's the quote:
"One thing I'm really excited about with it, that I really want to talk up, and this was something that I really pushed to figure out a way to do, it's a really special thing. We're going to have a music-only version of the movie. Basically, we did a mix where there's no dialogue, no sound effects, no backgrounds, nothing but the score playing at regular perfect level. So you can watch it like a silent film just with John [Williams'] score. If you do this, it's incredible because you see the nuance that he rides the emotion of the scene with, and it's being able to just focus on that music. "

Rian Johnson explained that in order to watch the Star Wars: The Last Jedi music-only cut, you have to download the Movies Anywhere app and access the film through there once you've downloaded your digital copy of the movie. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is available on digital download today, so fans should be able to check it out right now through Movies Anywhere. Otherwise, fans waiting for Blu-Ray and DVD have a couple weeks to wait.
