Some very interesting Star Wars Rebels news combines with some fun, and potentially revealing Star Wars Episode VII news. In this edition of Star Wars Bits, read about the following:

  • Looper and Brick star Joseph Gordon-Levitt geeks out over Rian Johnson directing Star Wars Episode VIII.
  • Screenwriter Gary Whitta posts a familiar phrase.
  • Toys R Us posted an interesting behind the scenes Star Wars Rebels video.
  • The Star Wars Fan Film Awards are back.
  • Domnhall Gleeson reveals the one thing Star Wars Episode VII stars are allowed to say about the filming.
  • An artist reveals what a Star Wars Episode VII Stormtrooper might look like
  • WWE wrestler Sheamus was on the same island as Star Wars Episode VII.
  • Darth Vader is likely in Star Wars Rebels.
  • An apparently Star Wars braintrust meeting is taking place in London soon.

Yahoo asked Looper and Brick star Joseph Gordon-Levitt about his good friend, Rian Johnson, directing Star Wars Episode VIII. He geeks out in a fantastic way.

Gary Whitta, writer of the 2016 Star Wars spinoff, posted this photo on his Facebook last week. While he wouldn’t confirm exactly what it was from (the script, a book, just a random piece of paper), it does let us know the spinoffs will start the same way as the Episodes.

JediNews alerted us to this new video posted by Toys R Us featuring some behind the scenes thoughts and footage from Star Wars Rebels.

Three years removed, the wildly popular Star Wars Fan Film Awards will return at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in 2015. You can read more on the official website.

Speaking to Cinemablend, Star Wars Episode VII actor Domnhall Gleeson revealed he got a piece of paper saying the one thing he’s allowed to say about the movie is that he’s excited to be a part of it. Then again, he did talk about the delicious, healthy catering and the extreme secrecy around the studio with Coming Soon as well.

WWE wrestler Seamus has been teasing fans on Twitter about possibly being in Star Wars Episode VII. He recently visited the island of Skellig Michael (seen below) and tweeted that he “can’t confirm that I won’t not be” Darth Vader. While many outlets, like The Independent, are taking him seriously, if he was actually cast, he’d never be able to post anything on social media like that.

While Darth Vader isn’t in Star Wars Episode VII, he apparently is in Star Wars Rebels. This has yet to be confirmed but Hasbro (via The Wolfpac) posted this image with a description saying the character was in Rebels. Obviously, this would make sense but he wouldn’t be a main character.

Is this a Star Wars Episode VII Stormtrooper? According to Making Star Wars, artist Tom Hodges claims to have seen a stormtrooper helmet from the new film and drawn it.

GeekMom posted a break down of a few upcoming Star Wars Rebels books including this nice piece of concept art.

Finally, an apparent meeting of the Star Wars braintrust is about to take place in London. According to Eric from Ain’t It Cool (via Star Wars 7 News), J.J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy are about to be joined by Rian Johnson, Gary Whitta and others. Will we hear something soon?
