Here’s the latest trailer for Universal’s version of the Snow White story: Snow White and the Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Charlize Theron as the evil queen, and Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman who rebels against the queen’s wishes, and spares Snow’s life. We also finally get to see a lot more of the Dwarfs, played by actors such as Ian McShane, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Ray Winstone, and Nick Frost.

But the new trailer isn’t alone. There is also a five-minute extended story reel that shows a lot more than we’ve seen before, presented in a quick-cut montage. Now the film’s LotR-like ambitions are even more clear, and the suggestion that this might be an entertaining and creature-filled adventure comes through loud and clear.

Update: Evidently the current embeds are not viewable outside the US. We have no control over that, and when something better is available we’ll drop it in and remove this note.

(Here’s a YouTube embed of the trailer, in case you can’t see the Xfinity one due to region locking.)

That and the 5 minute extended preview both come from Xfinity. The 5-minute clip is below. If you’ve had qualms about accepting Kristen Stewart as being more fair than Charlize Theron, this clip might address your concerns a bit, as it suggests that Snow White’s great beauty is an inner beauty. Well, OK, that makes sense. Also: there are lots of creatures and fighting. Finally, we’re still not seeing much of Sam Claflin as the film’s prince, but he is in the mix somewhere.

Snow White and the Huntsman will be released on June 1, 2012.

In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) out to destroy her.  But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) dispatched to kill her.  Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power.

The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.
