Sharknado 2

The Big Apple has seen all sorts of disasters and catastrophes over the centuries, but even so we’ve never experienced anything quite like this.

Sharknado 2: The Second One unleashes a very special storm on New York City, whose residents prove to be woefully unprepared. Fortunately, original Sharknado survivors Fin (Ian Ziering) and April (Tara Reid) are on hand to save the day. Watch the very first Sharknado 2: The Second One teaser trailer after the jump.

As if the CitiBike program didn’t have enough run-of-the-mill bad weather to worry about already.

To go with the sheer randomness of its premise, Sharknado 2: The Second One has compiled a truly eclectic lineup of celebrity cameos. Those include Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Kelly Osborne, Biz Markie, Judd HirschRobert Klein, Andy Dick, musician Pepa, blogger Perez Hilton, Twitter sensation Kelly Oxford, and pro wrestler Kurt Angle.

That, of course, is in addition to the regular cast, which includes Mark McGrathVivica A. FoxJudah Friedlander, and Kari WuhrerSharknado 2: The Second One premieres Wednesday, July 30 at 9/8c on Syfy.

The highly anticipated follow up to Sharknado, Sharknado 2: The Second One, a freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a Sharknado on the population and its most cherished iconic sites. Only Fin (Ian Ziering) and April (Tara Reid) can save the Big Apple. And, by the way, the Sharknado that hits NYC makes the one that hit Los Angeles seem positively tame.

Sharkado 2: The Second One co-stars Vivica A. Fox and Mark McGrath. Among the guest stars are Kelly Osbourne, Judd Hirsch, Judah Friedlander, Andy Dick and Perez Hilton. The movie, which was filmed in New York City, is directed by Anthony C. Ferrante from a screenplay by Thunder Levin (both of whom worked on the first).
