First Look: Russell Brand As An Animated Easter Bunny In 'Hop'

The first movie poster for the upcoming Russell Brand Easter Bunny comedy Hop has been released on Facebook (via Bleeding Cool). The film is the first live-action production from Universal Pictures' Illumination Entertainment, the guys behind the computer animated feature Despicable Me. Tim Hill (Alvin and the Chipmunks) is directing. The script is by Cinco Paul, Ken Daurio and Brian Lynch.Described as "the world's worst houseguest," Brand plays an Easter Bunny who is accidentally injured by an unemployed slacker played by James Marsden, who is then forced to take the holiday creature in until he recovers. As one might expect, wacky hijinks ensue, and both characters eventually "learn what it takes to finally grow up." The film co-stars Kaley Cuoco, Elizabeth Perkins and Hugh Laurie.Official One Pager:

Plot Outline:

From the creators of Despicable Me comes Hop, the comic tale of Fred (James Marsden), an out-of-work slacker who accidentally injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Russell Brand) and must take him in as he recovers. As Fred struggles with the world's worst houseguest, both will learn what it takes to finally grow up. The live-action / animated film is helmed by Tim Hill, director of the blockbuster Alvin & the Chipmunks and produced by Chris Meledandri's Illumination Entertainment (Despicable Me).

Hop will hit theaters on April 1st, 2011.
