Rebel Wilson To Appear In 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay'?

In just a few short years, Rebel Wilson has managed to make quite the impression on the Hollywood comedy scene. She first broke out as Kristen Wiig's awkward roommate on Bridesmaids and has been working steadily ever since in films like Bachelorette, Pitch Perfect, and the upcoming Pain & Gain.

Now she could be poised to move into more dramatic territory. In a recent interview, Wilson let slip the possibility that she could appear in one of the upcoming installments of The Hunger Games franchise. Hit the jump to learn more.

The actress wouldn't reveal much about the potential role, aside from the fact that she would be playing one of the people in the Capitol. "[T]here aren't a lot of roles open, because they've all already been cast, but that would be awesome," she said. "I'd love to be in The Hunger Games." Her bubbly, larger-than-life personality does seem like a great fit for the Capitol, though I'm having trouble thinking of a specific character she could fill.

Wilson doesn't specify which Hunger Games movie she might star in, but seeing as Catching Fire has already wrapped shooting, Mockingjay seems like the obvious guess. That adaptation has been split into two parts, scheduled for release on November 21, 2014 and November 20, 2015, and has yet to announce any new casting.

The Hunger Games franchise has been able to attract some serious talent so far, from fresh faces like Jennifer Lawrence (whom Wilson describes as "super-duper nice" and "quite tall") to respected veterans like Donald Sutherland and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Wilson would make a great, if somewhat unexpected addition, to that cast.
