Mark Hamill Lightsaber

Update From Editor Peter Sciretta: Disney has released a video showing Mark Hamill playing around with the lightsaber at his DisneyWorld photoshoot with Mickey Mouse. Last time I saw Hamill at Comic-Con he was large — Its nice to see Hamill has gotten back in shape for Episode VII. The original story from Germain follows and the new video is embedded after the jump.

We all know what a thirty-year-old Mark Hamill looks like holding a lightsaber. That’s it above. But what does a sixty year old Hamill look like? That’s the question fans have been wondering for sometime as the actor gets ready to return to the role of Luke Skywalker for J.J. AbramsStar Wars Episode VII.

Hamill has yet to start shooting the film, though. He’s instead fulfilling some other Disney/Star Wars duties. The actor is currently in Orlando, Florida for Star Wars Weekends at Walt Disney World and posed with a lightsaber, giving fans some idea of what to expect come December 18, 2015. He also talked to the local paper about his training for the film and the crazy spoiler culture. See Star Wars 7 Mark Hamill and read his quotes below.

Here’s the 62-year-old actor holding a lightsaber again, with Mickey Mouse. Imagine him in some black cloaks and this is basically what we can expect in Episode VII. Thanks to Inside the Magic.

Mark Hamill Lightsaber

The actor is looking very trim and fit for a near senior citizen. I think he’s ready to take on the Empire, or whatever, in the new movies.

He also spoke to the Orlando Sentinel (via JediNews) about the preparation. Here’s the quote

I’ve altered my diet. I’ve started working out. There’s that. But on the film itself: I toured the departments, I’ve looked at wardrobe, and I saw the creature shop. I went around and met all the cast people, saw the technicians working on some new things.

And then he talked about the crazy internet search for spoilers:

This is a whole different world … The first one, no one cared. The second one there was a lot of interest, but it was before the Internet. … I tell people we’re not trying to annoy you or tease you or play some massive game. Basically what the goal is to keep the surprises for the movie instead of spoiling them on the Internet.

What do you think about this new and improved Star Wars 7 Mark Hamill?
