Our Disney spy just told us that Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End has a final running time of 2 hours and 50 minutes. That’s right, the film will be almost 3 hours long. With trailers, pre-theater advertisements, and advanced seating, expect to spend over three and a half hours in those not-so-comfortable movie theater seats.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for a great movie with a long running time. Grindhouse is the best recent example of this, followed by Zodiac. But with Pirates it’s different. The first film was just about right at about two hours and twenty minutes, but many people complained that Dead Man’s Chest was about an hour too long at two and a half hours.
