Pirates of the Caribbean series screenwriter Terry Rossio admits that a fourth film may be in the works, like it or not.
“It’s like the fourth Indiana Jones picture – there are forces in play to make it happen, and forces in play to make it not happen,” admitted Rossio. “I think we will try to write a screenplay.”
Although the Shrek scribe admits it won’t be easy: “I can’t say if we’ll be able to solve the challenge of making a good fourth film, or if our screenplay will be enough to get a film made.”
Let’s hope it doesn’t happen. If the second film is any indication, I don’t think they have a quality fourth movie in them. And when the screenwriters are doubtful (knowing full well there is a huge payday to be had) it’s a very bad sign.
