Mission Impossible 5 trailer

Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie dropped a little present for us on Sunday morning. They revealed the first Mission Impossible 5 trailer, along with a poster and title. That title: Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation. And, actually, it’s not even the full trailer. It’s a minute-long tease for the full trailer which will hit on Monday, March 23. Still, it’s the best trailer tease you’ve ever seen. None of this 20 seconds and no footage crap.

Check out the Mission Impossible 5 trailer below.

Here’s the Mission Impossible 5 trailer tease, followed by the poster. We’ll have more soon.

But wait, that’s not all. USA Today talked to Cruise and his director a bit about the movie and debuted two more pictures.

They describe the plot of the movie as follows:

The new flick finds Hunt’s highly effective but destructive Impossible Mission Force (IMF) disbanded by vengeful Washington bureaucrats such as the CIA chief (played by Alec Baldwin). But Hunt pulls his team together (Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and newcomer Rebecca Ferguson) to battle the shadowy force known as “The Syndicate” and its elusive leader (Sean Harris).

Sounds interesting, but most of the talk  – at least with a few months until the film’s release – is going to be about that stunt at the end of the trailer. A stunt that Cruise did himself. We’ll see more of when the full trailer hits Monday.

“That’s me the whole time. I was standing right over the tires when we landed,” Cruise told USA Today. “It’s nerve-racking for everyone else, but pretty exciting for me.”

Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation opens July 31. We’ll have more, including the full Mission Impossible 5 trailer, on Monday. For now, what do you think of this footage and title?
