Six hundred million dollars later, The Avengers has rocked our world. The film, and the build-up to it, were such massive pop culture events, years in the making, that everything coming after it almost feels superfluous. So instead of looking forward, maybe it's time to look back and appreciate what Marvel did leading up to The Avengers. That would be films like Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, (mostly) high quality superhero movies that lead to this summer's uber-hit.

Marvel is releasing a huge Blu-ray box set September 25 called Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One – Avengers Assembled and has just released a trailer teasing the package. Check it out below.

Thanks to Marvel (via Collider) for the trailer.

The set will include:

  •  Marvel's The Avengers (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
  • Captain America: The First Avenger (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
  • Thor (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
  • Iron Man 2 (Blu-ray)
  • The Incredible Hulk (Blu-ray)
  • Iron Man (Blu-ray)
  • Bonus Disc – "The Phase One Archives" (Blu-ray)
  • Collectible packaging with exclusive memorabilia from the Marvel Cinematic Universe
  • The Amazon site where this set was first discovered promised some sort of major update on July 15. That probably just means it'll happen at San Diego Comic-Con and not make it online until then.

That reveal will likely just be what the set looks like. Just from the tiny tease at the top, though, it doesn't take a genius to figure out it's the case the Tesseract is in in The Avengers. Plus, it wouldn't surprise me if the "exclusive memorabilia" was a replica of that very piece which was the driving force for the film.

Did you enjoy looking back at those films in the trailer? Will you be picking this set up?
