In 2013, two “Die Hard in the White House” movies entered the box office arena. Only one emerged, and it headed straight across the pond. Lionsgate has revealed the first trailer for London Has Fallen, the Olympus Has Fallen sequel once again starring Gerard Butler as Secret Service agent Mike Banning and Aaron Eckhart as the U.S. president he’s sworn to protect.
The two arrive in London to attend the funeral of the British prime minister. But when the event becomes a target for terrorists, they must team with an MI6 agent (Charlotte Riley) to prevent the world as we know it from ending. Watch the first London Has Fallen trailer after the jump.
The first London Has Fallen trailer surfaced on YouTube. The music is a slowed-down piano version of “London Bridge Is Falling Down,” because what else are you gonna use when the name of your movie is London Has Fallen?
If you liked the big explosive action of Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen looks like more of the same. And if you didn’t, there probably wasn’t much chance of you being interested in London Has Fallen anyway.
London Has Fallen drops January 22, 2016. Babak Najafi directed.

The sequel to the worldwide smash hit “Olympus Has Fallen,” a non-stop, suspenseful action thriller that delivers high-octane excitement through a heightened sense of authenticity. The visceral intensity springs from a timely premise: after the British Prime Minister passes away, his funeral becomes a target of a terrorist organization to destroy some of the world’s most powerful leaders, devastate the British capital, and unleash a terrifying vision of the future. The only hope of stopping it rests on the shoulders of the President of the United States (Aaron Eckhart) and his formidable Secret Service head (Gerard Butler), and an English MI-6 agent (Charlotte Riley) who rightly trusts no one. Morgan Freeman also stars as the Vice President of the United States.
