LOL: Batman Fights For Family And Lives For Love, According To ABC Family

Movie promos aren't always as honest as we'd like, but even the more misleading ones are generally more fact than fiction. At the very least, they look like they were crafted by folks with a passing familiarity with the film in question.

But I'm not so sure that's the case for this TV spot promoting the ABC Family premiere of Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins. Or rather, a playful romantic drama that bears a striking visual resemblance to Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins. Because surely this "legendary hero" who "fights for family and lives for love" can't be the Batman, right? Hit the jump to check it out.

To be fair, while the "fights for family" line wrongly implies that Batman has a family to fight for, it's not technically incorrect. After all, it's the gruesome death of his parents that drives him to become a grown man who dons an animal costume each night to administer secret vigilante justice throughout Gotham City.

But of all the things he "lives for," I have to think "love" is very, very low on that list. Heck, he didn't even notice when the woman he supposedly loved suddenly morphed from Katie Holmes in Batman Begins to Maggie Gyllenhaal in The Dark Knight. And his romance with Miranda in The Dark Knight Rises, as we all recall, turns out to be spectacularly ill-advised.

This promo is so hilariously off-base, in fact, that I'm dying to see what they'll do with The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises when those eventually hit cable TV. Make your best guesses at what those might look like in the comments.
