King Of Kong Helmer Seth Gordon To Direct Divorce Comedy Celeste And Jesse Forever

King of Kong director Seth Gordon is in talks to develop and direct Celeste and Jesse Forever, a divorce comedy with Rashida Jones (The Office) attached to star. Jones co-wrote the screenplay with television actor Will McCormack (The Sopranos, Dirt). The story follows a divorcing couple trying to maintain their friendship while they both pursue new relationships. While McCormack isn't attached to co-star, it seems possible that the screenplay was written with that as a possibility. The film was originally set up at Fox Atomic, but is now in development at Overture

Gordon has a bunch of projects setup: A Bottle Rocket like Hiest comedy Suicide Squad, Mr. Romance – a romantic comedy about a "a cynical guy who is forced to enter the Mr. Romance competition to win back the love of his life", a big screen adaptation of King Dork, and a feature adaptation of King of Kong which I doubt will ever happen. It is unclear which project will go into production first, both Suicide Squad and King Dork sound like great options. I'd rather see Gordon stick to more geek-focused stories, and stay away from the middle of the road romantic comedy projects like Four Christmases.
