'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' Featurette Promises More Dinosaurs Than Ever Before, And You Can Adopt One

In case you haven't heard, today is National Dinosaur Day. Really, it's just of those hollow "holidays" used for marketing purposes, so it makes sense that Universal Pictures is taking advantage of this opportunity to tout all the dinosaurs that will be on display in this summer's sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

A new Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom dinosaur featurette has surfaced online featuring a bunch of new footage from the movie with dinosaurs we haven't seen on the big screen before. Not only does the featurette promise more dinosaurs than we've seen in any other Jurassic Park movie to date, but it shows us the impressive animatronics used to bring them to life in certain scenes.

As you can see, in addition to the classic dinosaurs we're used to like the Tyrannosaurus Rex and Velociraptors, there are several new dinosaurs as well. We've got a Carnotaurus that gets in a fight with the T-Rex, as well as another new dinosaur called the Scinoceratops. Elsewhere, we've got a Stygimoloch and a Baryonyx that might make some trouble for our characters.

However, the big new dinosaur star is supposed to be the genetically created Indoraptor, a hybrid of a bunch of dinosaurs that was likely created as a weapon. But of course all hell breaks loose when the creature escapes. Because duh.

What's cool to see is the updated animatronics used to bring dinosaurs to life with technology that is far more sophisticated than those used in the original Jurassic Park. These dinosaurs look even more realistic, and it almost makes it difficult to create computer generated dinosaurs that look as impressive. You can even adopt one yourself:

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return in the sequel directed by J.A. Bayona while new cast members include James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall and Isabella Sermon. Meanwhile, B.D, Wong and Jeff Goldblum reprise their franchise roles yet again.Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opens onĀ June 22, 2018.

When the island's dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event.
