John C. Reilly Rumored To Star In 'Tim And Eric's Billion Dollar Movie'

Fresh off their Sundance short, The Terrys, there's a rumor circulating on the Tracking Board that Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are putting together a film called Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie. It would star the two comedians, best known for their recently ended Cartoon Network show Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job, in a "comedy adventure" about them owing one billion dollars. John C. Reilly, who has not only appeared on the Awesome Show but also spawned his own Tim and Eric spin-off, Check it Out With Dr. Steve Brule, is rumored to co-star as a character named Taquito. Read more of the rumored co-stars after the break.

Because this comes from the Tracking Board, we've qualified this news as a rumor. This list of stars supposedly in talks to appear in the film should also be considered a rumor: Zach Galifianakis, Will Ferrell, Bob Odenkirk, Harrison Ford and Will Forte. Galifianakis, Odenkirk and Forte regularly appeared on the Awesome Show so they make sense. Ferrell would produce with Adam McKay and their Gary Sanchez Productions. I'm not sure how Harrison Ford fits in but, it sounds great.

Since their TV show ended and Tim and Eric got their short film into Sundance, the next logical step does seem to be a feature. Whether or not it would be theatrical would surely depend on the script and exactly how raunchy it got. However, even with their live Chrimbus theater show which toured this winter, Tim and Eric's comedy is best digested as small vignettes. We have yet to see them put together a long, singular narrative. That's not to say they couldn't do it, or that the film would be like that, just that it's new territory for them.

As more on this develops, we'll bring it to you but – as it sounds now – would you turn out for a Tim and Eric movie? And if you need a little Tim and Eric primer, check out this old post.
