Cool Stuff: Joey Spiotto's Storytime 3 Art Show At Gallery 1988

We've featured artist Joey Spiotto's work many times on the site over the past few years. You might recognize his little Golden Book parody covers or his fictional band Vinyl record cover art. We even featured him earlier in the week as his book Alien Next Door hit stores nationwide, and written about his Storytime shows at Gallery 1988.

Tonight, Joey returns to the Melrose Avenue art gallery with his third solo art show to coincide with the release of his new book, Storytime – a Little Art Book. Hit the jump to check out some previews of Storytime 3's demented children's books.

Storytime 3 will featuring 40 new works inspired by some of our favorite movies, music, television shows, and video games. Here is a preview of some of the artwork which will be on display and available for purchase as prints at the show:

Storytime 3 will take place at Gallery 1988 East (7021 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90038) beginning with a big opening tonight (Friday, April 7) from 7:00-9:00 PM. The art show will be on exhibition through April 22, 2017. 

ZZ04BEFEC3Storytime – A Little Art Book features over 140 pages of full-color artwork in a 9 x 12 hardcover, clothbound coffee-table book. The book collects every single Storytime piece created from 2013 through 2016. Gallery 1988 will be hosting a book signing/release party on Saturday, April 8, 2017, from 12:00-3:00 pm. Books will be available to purchase at the gallery, or if you backed the Kickstarter, you could bring your copy in for a free sketch from Joebot. Joey Spiotto is a graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. He has previously worked in the film and video game industry on such projects as The Polar Express for Warner Bros. as well as The Sims and Dead Space video games for Electronic Arts.
