It’s no secret that James Bond is a a super misogynistic character. He’s a womanizing spy in every single one of his big screen adventures, and even Daniel Craig has pointed this very fact out before. When asked what we can learn from James Bond, Craig quite bluntly said, “Nothing. Let’s not forget that he’s actually a misogynist. A lot of women are drawn to him chiefly because he embodies a certain kind of danger and never sticks around for too long.”
That’s something that’s never been subtle in the James Bond franchise as everyone expects him to make a double entendre about sex while speaking to any of the Bond girls hired for a particular movie. Even the opening credits sequences are full of visuals that serve as not-so-subtle metaphors for sex, as one video hilariously lays out in the most obvious way after the jump.
It’s a simple video, but that’s also what makes it so funny. James Bond’s gun is a stand-in for his penis, the bullet coming out of the gun is an orgasm, and so on and so forth. Nowadays, the James Bond credits sequences have steered away from the more provocative visuals and metaphors like this, but the secret agent is certainly still the womanizing spy he always has been.
However, at the end of the day, it’s important to note that this trait of James Bond’s is a flaw in his character. He has an inability to get attached to someone because of his past. And that’s what fans should take away. Bond isn’t happy because of all the women he sleeps with. He does this as a way to poorly work through his own emotional issues. So this side of James Bond is not one to be admired as it used to be in the classic movies.Cool Posts From Around the Web:
